Chevy's is a nice little spot on 535 in Lake Buena Vista. Living in the Dr. Phillips area and not wanting to have to go to Rocco's for a sit down Mexican meal, fighting the Disney traffic for 10 minutes is worth it to go to Chevys. They are nestled in a plaza across the street from Disney on 535, so be prepared to deal with a bunch of a-hole drivers confused about everything. Service always seems to be a little slow, but if you tell them that you are local, then they tend to give you quicker and more personalized service. The staff is always friendly and the they have plenty of tequila selections. Food wise, it is always consistently good. I have never had a bad meal at Chevys. Within minutes you have chips and salsa to satiate your hunger pangs and if you want a little zip, ask for the habanero salsa. This past visit we decided to get the tableside guacamole and they add a touch of oregano to give it a uniquely delicious taste. Prices for most meals are within the $12-$15 range for entrees. If you plan on getting hammered here, do it during their happy hour, in the bar area. They do not offer happy hour in the regular seating area and the drinks can get pricey depending on your taste. Overall this place is great for Orlando locals and for tourists alike. Good food, good ambiance, and decent service. They would get the 5 star review if the service could step it up a bit, but I will always go back.

Good alternative to the theme park food nearby. I had the chicken fajitas and I really liked them. The chicken was well seasoned. Price seemed a bit steep for fajitas compared to some of my other favorite fajita spots. Service was good too.

Great location and friendly staff. Entirely too overpriced. PROS: Ambiance, location, bar CONS: Overpriced, service

This place was just okay. The strawberry margarita was great, but the food was so so. They got my order wrong and didnt seem to care and the waitress was horrible. I most definitely won't be going back.

We come here during every WDW trip to escape the overpriced Disney meals and always look forward to it. It's always clean, always good service, always good food.

This was our first time eating at a Chevys. We had Kermit as our server/bartender and he made the experience more than amazing. It's been a long time since we've had great service like the one he provided. Food and drinks were amazing, dessert was ok. Next time we come (which we will) we'll be looking for Kermit and also try the drink dessert he said.

Food was good, homemade guacamole at table was excellent. New waiter was awesome! Male hostess could be much more hospitable.

My husband and I went to Chevy's after going to an amusement park. We love Mexican food but we were wowed by the most delicious food we have ever eaten. We started out as usual with Nachos and Salsa that was so good I could have eaten with a spoon. I had a beef Chimichanga that I could only eat half and take the rest home with me (and it was even better the next day reheated). Hubby had Verde Mocajete Flour Tortilla which was more of a stew with pork, potatoes, onions and other yummy ingredients which he said was delicious rolled up in the soft flour tortilla as well as eaten with a fork. We washed all that yummyness down with some Blue Moons and could not hold any of the great desserts that were available. The service was great and the price for all this was only $35. We will make it a point to visit this restaurant again because we come to Orlando often.

Server was really good. I could tell it was busy and she still managed to make us feel she cared. Our appetizer was tiny and expensive. I believe we got the jalapeño shrimp. Tasted amazing but I believe it only came with 3 pieces. I saw the table next to me order the guacamole dip and it was made in front of them. Looked amazing! Next time I will try it! Overall, I would definitely come back. The place is a little expensive but given the location, I think it's ok. Next time I would prefer to not get appetizers and just get a bigger entree.

We come to Orlando often and almost always make a stop at Chevys. It's not Mexican, more tex mex with a Mexican flair. But the Margaritas are yummy and I love the carnita fajita salad. They recently redid the decor. Very nice. The staff is really nice and helpful. On this particular visit, the wait was 35 minutes. The guy up front saw we had small children and worked his magic to get us in within 10 minutes. One more plus, they play real Mexican music. Which is refreshing because most "Mexican" restaurants play salsa. Salsa is great music but it's not Mexican. :) I didn't give the fifth star because the bathrooms were dirty. :( and they've been dirty several times. I hate dirty bathrooms.

We ate here while on vacation in Orlando. We fell in love instantly! Everything - the atmosphere, the food, the service, was top-notch. The manager was amazing. After chatting with him, he knew we were there on vacation. We asked him to suggest a delicious dish, and after inquiring as to our likes, he came up with an order for us that knocked our flip-flops off! The food was AMAZINGLY GOOD! We ordered the tableside guacamole, home-made queso, mixed-grill fajitas, mocajete and fajita steak quesadillas. Live music was being perfomed at a respectful noise-level. The singer was talented and was not over-the-top. We lingered and enjoyed the evening. We were sorry to go, but we left with pleasantly full bellies and happy memories. We look forward to the day when a Chevy's opens in Ohio.

Fun atmosphere! Fresh guacamole made at your table the way you want it. The best fish tacos I have ever had!! Great service and reasonable prices. Put this on your don't miss list!!

So disappointed by this visit. Last time I ate here was about 7 years ago. Has gone downhill since then. I should have known when the hosts had a seriously difficult time seating us in a booth in a mostly empty restaurant at 5pm. Food was not good. Fries were cold. Freshly made guac was terrible. I don't know if this was because the avocados were not ripe or were not haas avocados or what but it was not tasty. Smothered burrito was extremely salty and almost inedible. Kids' Mac and cheese was flavorless and honestly made Kraft Mac and cheese taste gourmet. Although the waitress was very nice and cut her break short to take our drink order, I think she forgot about us because she didn't come back for another 30 minutes. Do not recommend and will never go back.

Friendly server with great energy. They know the menu and had really good recommendations on the food and appetizers. Family friendly. There is a bar area if you want to sit and enjoy the fare and a game. Salsa and queso are great and taste fresh. Terrific food! Enjoy the food!

Table side guac was great and the chicken flautas were the best I've ever had! The appetizer portion was enough for a meal!

I wanted to pick something up for lunch today, and I took care to look at the menu for the Orlando location. Nevertheless, when I called to order, they no longer have tamales, they had no idea what the Jalisco combo was, the price was $2.50 more than shown on the website.....folks, it's 2014 - update your website. I just gave up....it's a longer drive to Taco el Rancho, but worth it.

We had a party of 9 (4 adults and 5 kids 9 and under) we had no reservation on a Friday night. We were seated immediately. Our server was quick to get drink orders and attentive all night. At one point one of the kids caused a big spill. From out of no where came three employees with towels and rags. One even had a trash can. The food was excellent too. Hot and tasty. The portions are very generous. My wife and I spit the fajitas and it was more than enough. A highlight of the evening was a balloon artist. He made a flower, a dinosaur, Spiderman and two machine guns out of balloons for the kids.

Great service, as far as the high tables goes. Our server for my girlfriend and I was very attentive. Kept my beer glass filled. Who's complaining?! We placed an order for the pick two as a combo as there was not much selection for two vegetarians. Little did we know though, you only get one of what you ordered. One small taco and one enchilada. Literally one. Thought it was an order of 2-3 tacos/enchiladas. Regardless, it was still both rather good. Oh btw they were both roasted vegetables. The rice and beans were amazing. Probably best I've had in a while. If you're around, stop by and give them a try. Staff are extremely nice. Food was decent, can't judge them all yet :P

Best Mexican food I have had in a while. I got the Baja sampler, which was just unbelievable. I loved all of the items on the plate. I couldn't even pick a favorite they were so good. We came here with our daughter after a long day at Disney. Atmosphere was great, margarita was awesome, and food was unbelievable. Service was fantastic. Nothing bad to say!!

I'm new here in Orlando and I got the chance to try the new menu they're are launching after redoing the inside of the restaurant (as of Nov 2013) and let me tell you it was AMAZING! Mexican food with originality and a kick to it! I'm impress mostly after having a chevy's close to me in CA that is NOTHING LIKE IT! It is totally renewed from the place to the menu so just go give it a try or a second chance if you had a previous bed experience.

Everything about this place was a great time . My best friend and I took a trip to Orlando and craved some Mexican . We stumbled upon this location on yelp and boy , we fell in love ! Our waitress was so sweet and cared about conversation with her tables . They explained to us how they went under renovation and Orlando was the flagship to start upcoming renovations for the rest of Chevys and honestly I can't wait till they fix the one in ft.lauderdale . We tried the table side guac which was AM-AZING. It was fun and you can be creative and it comes out the way YOU want . So good we wanted more ! For the main course we ordered chicken fajitas , and they were so good . Fresh crisp veggies , great chicken and I really liked the skillet they were served on . The tortillas were nice and hot rolled up in foil and had a fresh taste to them . Out dessert consisted of fried donuts like strips with a three sauce combo of chocolate , strawberry and caramel which we liked and loved the assorted sauces. This Chevys is just fun . The atmosphere was fun on a Saturday night and I really want to turn into the spot I go to every time I'm in Orlando .

I really enjoy this place! I visited here while on a business trip in Orlando. The food, atmosphere, service and location are great! It is located right outside of Disney... the parking lot gets congested fast because the stoplight (too short). I ordered the Mesquite-Grilled Steak Tacos which were soft flour tortillas filled with crisp lettuce, pico de gallo, chipotle aioli and cotija cheese. As a side I had the Served with rice and their sweet corn tamalito. The SWEET CORN TAMALITO is DELICIOUS!!!! No joke I could not get enough of it! Next time I will order two servings of it! For those of you what want to know what to expect well... it's a scoop a corn pudding! If you're a corn bread lover like myself, you will LOVE this! The tacos were also very good and flavorful!

The food was not particularly good, even for tex-mex. Plantain/bbq appetizer left a lot to be desired and so did the service. Waiter left our water and margarita glasses empty for a long time and was awkward and uncomfortable. There was a fly in one of our margaritas. Only reason I didn't give one star is because the tableside guac was delicious and the guy who made it for us was friendly and personable. Definitely wouldn't go back.

I visited Chevy's today after their recent remodel. The restaurant is very nicely decorated and appears more upscale. They have done away with their lunch menu at the Lake Buena Vista location so I was a bit disappointed. However, after outstanding service by Michael, and his information on signing up for Real Rewards, our visit turned around for the positive. The dishes we ordered were the combo fajitas and the appetizer sampler. These items were perfectly and pleasantly plated. The sampler was HUGE and definitely shareable. The flavor of the meat for the fajitas was a new twist on their prior fajita meat and was excellent. Cast members receive 15% off of their check now, up from 10% previously offered. With the Real Rewards app, you can also earn appetizers or money off of your check at your current or next visit, depending on the rewards accumulated. Definitely will go back for lunch again. Go check out their new décor and new menu items.

We were visiting Orlando from Texas and were wanting a good margarita and fajitas. Chevy's restaurants popped up as the closet Tex mex restaurant around the hotel. We ordered Cheese Quesadilla , Entree was four item combo with beef taco, chicken enchilada, chili relent, Mesquite grilled Chicken Fajitas w/ beans and rice. Desert was Ooey Gooey Sunday w gourmet brownie. The beverages were What you expected from a Tex Mex Restaurant. The entire meal was good. I must mention the servers and staff were just okay. He seemed lost at sometimes which is why they lost a star. Over all it was very good and we would go back.

The margaritas, salsa and table side guacamole are on point. The service was quick even with the restaurant being packed. I had the chipotle sherry chicken enchiladas. They were great, but I wish they gave you three enchiladas instead of two. I'm a bigger guy so I like to eat. My wife had the mixed grill fajitas. She loved it but too much food for her, which isn't a bad thing. I think it's a good plate to get if your are thinking about sharing with someone.

This is the first restaurant we tried after moving to the Lake Buena Vista area. There are so many restaurants around here and we wanted to try them all out, but Chevys was so amazing that we just keep coming back! We have tried a few more places, but nothing has compared to Chevys yet. The pick two or pick three is my favorite thing on the menu. You get a variety of delicious foods. The flautas are like heaven in your mouth. The endless chips and salsa are incredible, but will fill you up before you get your dinner. Also, Chevys has the best Sangria I've ever tasted. The margaritas are great as well. I haven't had anything here that wasn't amazing! If you haven't been here yet, you have to try it! The ONLY downfall is that sometimes the service is a bit slow because they get so busy. But, the food is well worth the wait. The service in the bar area and at the bar seems to be much quicker, however. The best part about it all, is that the food and drinks are very reasonably priced! Oh, and one last thing.. Make sure you try the Jalapeño Jelly!!!! It's the best thing they have there!

We seem to always go here when we are at Disney World...it is easy to get here and it gets us out of the park for a couple of hours....plus after a few Happy Hour Margaritas everything just seems good! On our most recent visit I looked at my wife and said, "This place has the worse Mexican Food ever!" She agreed and we just laughed. We did agree that the chips and salsa along with the Margarita's kept us coming back. As I was looking over the menu I came across something new called the Chevy's Burger. I looked at my wife and said, "They now have a burger! A seasoned hamburger patty with green chiles, avocado and jalapeño-Jack cheese in a grilled flour tortilla." And my wife said, "Let's get it!" It is called the El Mexi Burger!!! I must say that Chevy's has finally redeemed themselves with us. It was cooked a perfect medium rare too. It is sad for me to say the best thing on the menu here is the burger...that is so American of me. But this place calls themselves Mexican food and I know that is not true...so I think we are even on the assumptions!!! The burger came with natural potato chips too and they were some of the best chips I have ever had. They were served warm and I am sure that Chevy's deep fried them fresh before serving them. There is a balloon person here and it drives me crazy because they target the kids tables and then want tips for making a sword or a hat. Do they understand that I can get the Disney Hotel employees to make me as many balloon animals, crowns, swords and 4foot walking people, without it even costing me a dime. I just look at my little one and say...we have 50 balloons in our room already and that gets me out of it!!! The service is always a little disorganized but we have come to expect this in Southern Florida especially during high season and the hotels are full of tourists. My four stars is for the new burger, chips and salsa and the happy hour margaritas. These will always keep us coming back every time we are down here vising Mr Mickey Mouse!!!

Food was excellent for all. We called ahead for GF tortilla chips for my wife and they made them from scratch (takes about 20 mins). I had a veggie quesadilla which was great. Sign up for their rewards program and get a free flauta! My son loved his nachos grande (pictured). Can't go wrong here with good prices and portions.

I went there recently after the renovations, it looks all rustic with more charm but after reading this article: wftv.com/news/news/local… I'm not sure I'll be going back. But it could happen to anyone just take look at this other article: nypost.com/2014/03/04/pe… 6 days later I got this message from: Shawna M.Customer Service Thank you for your review. Our restaurant was visited by officials earlier this year and everything is in great standing. We hope to see you soon.

This an awesome place to hangout with friends. It location makes it even better. It's close to WDW and other locations. I love their Tortilla Soup, it has a lot of flavor. Also love their Tamales and the BBQ Ribs. There are some other favorites of mine at this place like the Steak Fajitas and the Deep fried Ice Cream! The Mexican Bulldog is another drink to mention. This is a really good place for groups of friends.

I used to go to this location all the time and moved. :( A few months ago I called in to order the salsa (OMG! It is to die for!). The new decor is awesome. I had to go back and eat in. The staff was busy, but friendly. Since they are near Disney in a big tourist food area it is always full or people. Our server was really nice and kept me in salsa and chips. Their food was good, but took a bit longer than expected. We were not in a hurry so it was not a problem. There were serving large parties and my husband and I at salsa, chips and drank beer. The salsa is always different strengths, as it is made fresh by different people. But always good. My husband usually get the burrito, black beans combo (they still serve it). I used to do the chicken wings but tried the plain tacos. I'm not really a mexican food fan. Parking is a bit crazy. It always has been. The place looks great now. I still stop by when I can to get a large take home 4 pints of salsa. I really have a chevy's salsa problem.

We usually make it a point to visit Chevy's when we come to WDW. We like to meet with the family as a group and in the past they've been pretty good at serving up a very good meal in a pleasant atmosphere. This last visit in late September was the exception. We had a party of 11 & it seemed to take forever to get our food & the wait staff appeared to be chaotic. My fajita was left on the tray & by time I got it the chicken was dry & the veg was burnt. The waiter seem disoriented & frequently mixed up our orders. The manager did make up for some of the difficulty by giving us a dessert on the house, which was a nice jester, even though he didn't have too. We will go again, but with a wary eye.

I love how the place looks after their remodel, much more trendy than it used to look. The menu has changed quite a bit, but I'm so glad they didn't change their chips and salsa! Me and my boyfriend got the appetizer sampler to share (comes out on a surfboard looking thing), and there was too much food for us to finish. We went on a Friday night and sat at the bar and there was only a couple tables in the restaurant. We sat at the bar and I think the bartender was completely bored. Can't say she gave us bad service because we never went without anything that we needed but she probably asked us literally 20 times if we were ok, if we needed anything and if she could take anything from us. Kind of seemed like we were being rushed when we were the only bar guests. I think she just needs to learn to not hover over guests.

This review is long and goes through our particular horrible experience, but the bottom line is DO NOT COME HERE. Check the other recent reviews - most of the 5-star reviews are most likely fake and the others, since the restaurant was redone a few weeks ago, are bad. Here's our particular experience: We have been coming to this Chevy's location for years, but on our most recent trip, after the restaurant was "redone," we had a horrible experience. I don't know that I've ever received worse service. First, we tried calling to see if they could put our name on the list before we got there, but the phone rang endlessly. Then, when we arrived, the three hostesses assured us the wait was 25 to 30 minutes in a confident manner. After waiting 20 minutes, I asked how much longer and was told 20 more minutes. When I said that that was longer than the stated waiting time, a hostess just said, "I know." No "I'm sorry" or explanation -- something other than, "I know" would have been much appreciated. After 50 minutes, after everyone else who had been waiting outside with us had been seated, we went inside to wait, and saw that there were 8 tables open. When we questioned this, the hostesses told us that they were "giving the kitchen a break." When we pointed out that our wait was only supposed to be 25 to 30 minutes, they didn't care at all. Meanwhile, people were going to the bar and getting food, choosing to eat outside and getting food, etc. It was just the people waiting for tables inside that weren't being seated. One of the hostesses was also texting on her cell phone, and when my boyfriend called the Chevy's phone number just to see if they'd pick up, no one answered the phone yet again. (Three hostesses - one couldn't be on phone duty?) When my dad saw that the manager was talking to the hostesses, he went over to express his frustration to her that we had been waiting so long and that there were plenty of open tables. The only thing the manager had to say was, "I understand sir. We're working on it." Ten minutes later, we finally got seated, although still without any sign of kindness, just a pathetic "Again, we apologize for the wait." In actuality though, that was the first apology we had actually received, and the hostess didn't really seem to mean any of it. We really should have left way before this point, given the carelessness of the entire staff as to the operation of the restaurant. Our waiter was the one exception though, and we did feel really bad for him because he went from having no tables (and therefore, no tips) to being swamped with tables (after the manager told the hostesses to seat everyone at once, after "giving the kitchen a break"). When we questioned the new menu, which was very limited compared to the old one, he seemed to have heard the same complaint before. He also seemed to expect our questioning if there was a more mild salsa, as the updated salsa is much spicier than the previous version. The chips are also not as light - why change the best part of Chevy's?!?! I don't get some of the changes. The management is clearly more concerned with the bar crowd than the regular dinner crowd. There are more drinks on the menu and less food. The food was ok, but there were issues with it as well - like the top of the pepper left in my dad's chile relleno and the lack of chicken in my chicken flautas. The portions were also smaller - they're clearly trying to make Chevy's more upscale, but changing what worked before is not the way to do it. And the number one factor in an upscale restaurant? Service. The managers might want to look into it. At one point during dinner, the manager came by with an incredibly fake smile on her face to ask if everything was better now. We just stared at her in disbelief and she left. Nothing else was ever said about anything - no apologies from the manager or anyone else. 1. Do not expect a normal Chevy's. 2. Do not expect good service. 3. Just don't go. It's really not worth your time and even if you do get seated, the food isn't consistent. Also, I think a lot of the 5-star reviews on here are fake given the short length and number of reviews by each reviewer. Maybe that's what the managers are focused on...

My goto place when I want Tex-Mex. I alway order the queso dip with warm tortillas for an appetizer. They make their own tortillas and they are really good! It may sound crazy, but my favorite thing about Chevy's is their tortillas! Ok, and maybe their watermelon margaritas! I can't say any of the menu items will make you go gaga... it's just your average Tex-Mex, but they do it well. I usually get the fajitas and I'm never disappointed. They're busy most of the time, but they do a good job getting food out fast. If you go during the middle of the afternoon or after 9pm at night you probably won't experience much of a wait.

"This Is How We Do It" by Montell Jordan "Livin' On A Prayer" by Bon Jovi "Ice Ice Baby" by Vanilla Ice I'm in Orlando touring Disney World and I come across Chevys last Thursday night and guess what? It's karaoke night. The above was my song list for the night and although I'm a terrible singer I had quite the blast hanging out here. First person to sing gets a free margarita --- yep, that was me. Apparently happy hour starts at 2pm and goes until close. Margaritas for only $4??? Wow. I can't speak to their food because I didn't eat but with the place being packed even at 10pm I would guess the food is great. The staff was great. They took care of my sister and me, cheered me on while I sang my heart out and even took the mic to get the people in the restaurant into the karaoke theme for the night. Our bartender made sure I never had an empty margarita glass in front of me and he was even kind enough to give us poncho hats. We just really felt at home hanging out with the patrons and staff singing and dancing the night away. Next time I'm in Orlando I'll be sure to visit this place again and will certainly try dinner here. It was just a great experience.

We had low expectations and this place blew us away! The chips and salsa were amazing. Chips tasted fresh and the salsa had a smokey taste to it. FANTASTIC. We filled up on these way more than we should have. I ordered the Shrimp and Crab enchiladas and was very happy. The crab was better than just the typical large chunks of fake crab and it was covered in a green sauce. So good, a tad spicy. The fiance ordered the fish tacos and they actually came with grilled salmon. Very good and unexpected for a chain restaurant. The strawberry margarita was decent, but I would totally recommend the Skinny Margarita. Tasted great!! They did have someone walking around for balloon animals for tips which I thought was kind of hokey, but yeah, I still got one. Long live, Ralph the penguin!

One of our favorites when we are in the Disney area:) great table side guacamole. Fresh chips and great salsa, not to hot just right. Fajitas are delicious but they should say they are for two, they are priced for two, the only downfall here is they don't have a lunch menu,

If you like tex-mex, then you need to go to Chevys... we were staying close by and enjoyed the food especially the drinks. I know some of the reviews are hit or miss but the chips and salsa they give you are so good.. and you cant go wrong with a Mexican Bulldog(coronarita). Happy Hour isn't too shabby either.

Place was delicious!!! The tableside guacamole dip was the best I've had at any restaurant in the states. Only place I've had it better is Mexico. I got the mixed fajitas... Amazing flavor in all of the meats and the tortillas are home made for your meal. Highly recommend this place.

Late night, hungry kids, tired mama... I needed something quick and easy. Mexican food is often a good choice for us because most restaurants have a lot of gluten-free options without trying too hard - chips, salsa, guacamole, corn tortillas, tacos, etc... I tossed the kiddos into seats, ordered a margarita, some fresh guacamole, and looked over the menu. The kids devoured the chips and salsa while I looked for some suitable menu items. My drink came... It was merely ok. I asked the waitress if she knew what items on the menu were gluten-free. Wait for it... "Nothing." Whaaa? What do you mean, exactly, by nothing? Well... she went on to say that they are months away from getting a gluten-free menu and, for now, not even the rice is gluten free. Okey dokey. So I pressed on - what about the tacos? Are they made with corn tortillas? Bingo. My girls could eat crunchy tacos with chicken, cheese, and lettuce. Onward. I ordered tacos with a side of fruit for the kids, my husband ordered farmhouse enchiladas, and we enjoyed our guacamole while our dinner was prepared. The guacamole, for the record, was also ho-hum. My kids loved that they put queso fresco on top but I really thought it was under seasoned in spite of the fact that I had them put "everything" in when they were making it tableside. The final nail in the coffin for this Mexican meal adventure came when they brought our dinners... I'd ordered sides of fruit for the little people and they brought out small plates with 3 large slices of orange. And, according to the kids, the oranges were really sour. Augh! Basically a disaster. Thank goodness for the chips and salsa at the beginning or we would have been in serious trouble. We won't be coming back.

Very nice casual restaurant. My margarita was very good. Wish I would have ordered the fish tacos entree rather than the sampler with only 1 fish taco because it was delicious! Table-side guacamole was good, but my expectations were too high because I was slightly disappointed. My husband enjoyed his smothered burritos but it wasn't something he'd order again.

Salsa is amazing if you like it fresh and served chilled. Chips are thick and delicious. Stay away from tortilla soups as the size is ridiculously small for the $6 price tag (it is only about 3/4 cup). Recommend the pick 2/3 item Entree as you get a good sample of there menu for a decent price. Service was mediocre and it was a slow night. I would eat here again as good Mexican food is often hard to find in this area but it is not on my list of best Mexican food

I agree with the other reviewers that the chips here are very good: light and crispy. I also liked the chunky, fresh salsa. We had the chile con queso to start with. It's not worth ordering. The cheese was Velveeta-quality: thin and not particularly good. We moved on to the combination steak and chicken fajitas. The staff was very accommodating. They gladly substituted grilled veggies for the rice and beans that normally come with. We asked for well-done veggies but medium-rare steak, which they also got right. I liked the fajitas, although not quite up to the standards we are used to at home (we live in the Southwest). Another plus was that Chevy's has Coke Zero, which many restaurants in Florida don't seem to carry. Service was excellent. Our server was highly attentive and made sure our glasses were always full. The manager also stopped by to make sure all was well at our table. So why only three stars? Two reasons: first, the low-quality queso dip. Second, and more importantly, I felt this place was really overpriced. All in, for two of us to eat lunch it was $60, which is a bit too much considering what we ate.

The worst customer service and management. No one at the door to greet you. Very few customers in restaurant but none want to even acknowledge you are there. The manager, James was to busy bussing tables to talk to me. Worst Chevy's restaurant I have ever been to.

We almost didn't stay after the experience we encountered with hostess. All I can say is the management as well as all the staff working Tuesday evening were amazing and changed the dynamic and attitude of our entire party. Management pickedthe perfect guy to deal with11. Our server was beyond awesome considering the situation he was put in to as well as his fellow Co workers who assisted him. I will say we are high maintenence and we had lil ones, so not easy but they continued to smile and even danced with us. Ms. GM pat yourself on the back as well as thanking your staff for the amazing service and patience! You made or last night a great one! !! Thanks again:)

I will never again return to this location. I used to love this restaurant but evidently they have made some changes and no longer have a lunch menu. Their prices are way too high for lunch.

Yikes. Compared to Chuy's... well you can't. I had miserable service here and the food just tastes awful. The salsa is too hot and my water was never refilled. It just went through a renovation and I'm bummed to see a poor turn out. The chicken in my chimichanga was all brown and rubbery---how disgusting. To top it off it was so loaded with sauce the deep fried shell was actually soggy. I didn't know that could happen. I will not be opting to go back here.

WFTV recently did an investigation that ranked this Chevy's among the 20 dirtiest restaraunts in Orlando: wftv.com/news/news/local… Last time we were there we were served food in a stone bowl that was scary hot, took forever to start cooling, and kept our food cooking after it was served until it was burnt.

Last time I ate at a Chevy's was when there was one in Lake Mary....many years ago.....and i remember it being nothing to brag about. We were in LBV this past Sunday and decided to stop here for lunch and what a treat! The service was great (Evan was our server), the food is superb and the atmosphere is top notch! First, I am not a fan of guac, but my wife and daughter are so we had the tableside guac and it was excellent. I even ate some myself! Between us we had the Chile Relleno, Carnitas, Beef Enchiladas and the Shrimp/Blue Crab Enchiladas. All were excellent and left us full and satisfed. (The jalapeno jelly was incredible with the Carnitas! Would be great on wings too!) We really wanted to try the fried ice cream, but were too full. Will save room for next time. It is definitely worth the trip from Lake Mary to get the best Mex in the area!

Stay for chips and salsa, leave before anything else! Sometimes change is not good when you start eliminating so much from your place. I will miss the corn mash, fried ice cream, bigger proportions etc etc...

We have loved Chevy's for years. And have even been to this location in the past and loved it. Came earlier this week and the food was a lot spicer than in the past. And today's food and service was just plain bad! It took forever for our food to come out and once it did there was a hair in my chicken, and then it took another 10 minutes for them to bring me a new plate. The manager came around after the waiter dropped off the food but didn't stop. There are less than 10 tables occupied, so it would have been no big deal to stop. Then I had to pay full price for my meal! Safe to say on our next trip down here we won't be stopping here!

The first and last time I will come. It was not good alot. The waitress was nice and checked up on us alot. She had short hair and red lips. The food was so nasty. I had ordered the chipotle chicken enchiladas and they tasted like old tortillas. Not fresh at all. The cost of the food was way too high and I would never go back. The rice and bean portion was smaller than the advised for a child and the pinto beans tasted as if they came from a can. So unhappy with it.

Mixed feelings about Chevys. The restaurant looked full when we got there but we were sat within 5 minutes. Took 10 minutes it seemed for someone to even come to our table. Chips and salsa were delicious but very small portions. Drinks took forever and the whole experience felt sluggish. Food was decent. I wasn't wowed. Our waitress was very respectful to the fact that my brother is Vegan but the cooks still put the corn butter scoop on his plate and even the waitress said she marked vegan on the ticket. Decent food subpar service.

My family and I have been going to this restaurant for years, and I have to say the quality of the food and the quality of how it's prepared has gone drastically down. On our most recent trip, veggie fajitas were ordered. When they arrived, the carrots were practically raw, and the portobello mushroom (a selling point of the meal) was practically nonexistent. The other meals ordered exhibited the same poor level of quality. Tortillas were not fresh and the food is much, much saltier than it used to be. The cost is also much too high for the poor quality. Save your money and go elsewhere. The chips and salsa were the only palatable part of the meal. I do not recommend this restaurant any more.

Service was horrid, food was mediocre except the queso which was great. I had to get my own refills twice and get my own silverware. It took 10 minutes to get my change. I will not be back.

Always good, always fresh. Best Steak Fajitas & top shelf margaritas this side of Texas. There is also an extra hot Habanero salsa that is great if you are a spicy one.

Great food. They start with the homemade tortilla chips and salsa which is great. We had to wait for our waiter a while but that's just one person. The atmosphere is great and the food is excellent. A must stop for anyone who is craving Mexican food

Chevy's is my favorite Mexican Restaurant. Everything from the chips and salsa to the entrees and dessert are too notch. The price is reasonable and the food is very flavorful. The table side guacamole is the best I've had. The Sangria is not only very refreshing but it's also served in a big glass. The service is great; friendly waiters/waitresses. I highly recommend Chevy's if you're the Orlando area and are in the mood for good Mexican food.

  • Cristina W.

This Chevy's rocks! It's so much better than the one in Doral, FL. More flavors in the food, the service is up to par, and love the location. It's right in the mix of Lake Buena Vista, and very nicely decorated. I ordered the steak tacos, and they were perfectly cooked, and seasoned. I love their chips and salsa too. Not overly hot, and the chips were perfectly crisp. I would definitely go there again!

Found this place via Yelp. We were craving Mex and the place close to our hotel had terrible reviews. Glad we chose Chevy's. The place is huge and the decor is awesome. The wait staff was very friendly and helpful regardless of how busy it was. We ordered the Guac. Sort of pricey, but now I know why! They make it to order, fresh right at your table. It was awesome. Once our dinner rolled around we were so stuffed from the huge bowl guacamole that we could only handle a few bites! Leftovers for sure. The portions are very generous and everything was delicious. I'll certainly be returning should I find myself in Orlando again.

The chicken fluatas are some of the best I've ever had (but extremely small for the price) and the homemade salsa is delish! My biggest complaint are the prices. A regular margarita (in a normal water glass) is $7 so I ordered the 'grande' thinking it would be cheaper than getting two smaller margaritas. It came in a 'somewhat' larger than normal cocktail glass. Because of the shape of the glass it didn't actually contain any more margarita even though I paid $11 for it. What a rip off!

Staff was not friendly at all...and the food was just ok. I remembered eating at Chevys in California and the salsa was addicting...not so much anymore.

I hadn't visited a Chevy's location in over a decade and never planned on doing so ever again (especially with the existence of Agave Azul, one needs look no further). But a group of friends were meeting there before heading out to a show at HOB so I thought I'd give it a re-try. The service was friendly but I feel I got "had" when I ordered a $4.99 draft beer and when I got the bill I was actually served the $6.49 beer (HOLY HELL, $6.49 PLUS tax for a 14oz Dos Equis Amber on draft?!?! Outrageous!) I pointed at the $4.99 draft on the menu to the waiter. I said, "I want this one." Why would he bring me the more expensive one without even telling me first, is beyond me. For dinner, I ordered a carnitas salad which was so-so, nothing to write home about. It had very little of everything and lots of lettuce. Just not worth $12.99, not in this planet. So my bill totalled $24.50 for one subpar salad and one overpriced beer (18% gratuity was added I guess because it was 10 of us) and it was not worth more than $12. If you are a tourist staying in that area, I suggest you drive to find somewhere else to eat.

We wandered in here during a disney vacation. It was mid-afternoon, so they weren't busy, which may have affected our experience, but we had fantastic service and great food. Our waiter was super friendly and the food was great. The salsa is wonderful, the chips kept coming, and the entrees were excellent and extremely generously-sized. Tableside guacamole usually seems ridiculous to me (I call it performance art guacamole at our local place), but the waiter was so friendly and interested in our preferences (and our daughter's guacamole recipe) that it was fun. I only wish I'd tried their margaritas. We tried to go back on a Saturday night but there was a huge wait. I'll be back on our next trip for sure!

Mexican Applebee's anyone? Average food, good prices, great/friendly service. Chevy's was Average in general. The interior of the restaurant is spacious, but not very clean. Chips and salsa were good. The menu is pretty deep. I had a combo meal with taco, enchilada, and burrito. Everything was flavorful, but just lacked anything to make it stand out as amazing. If you want a quick Mexican meal, Chevy's will do just fine.

  • M J.

Wow! Chevy's has come a long way. They have just completed a massive makeover. The restaurant has graduated from cheesy to classy. Food is very good, and service on our last 2 visits has been awesome. They have the best chips and guacamole The house salsa is also very good. Only complaint is the inclusion of meat based stock on the rice. M

We frequent the Orlando area at least once a year. And Chevy's is normally a stop for us. We've eaten at other Chevy's locations in the US but this one seems consistently better quality and service. Our most recent dining visit was also good. My spouse had enchiladas and I had a combo plate with a tamale, enchilada, and chile rellano (the chile was huge and was slightly undercooked). Other than the slight problem with my meal, the food and visit was enjoyable. Certainly Chevy's is a chain tex-mex eatery but we think it's a step better than most chains. Particularly this location

I have eaten here multiple times, but this is the first since new management. The service is not so great. Had to ask for anything multiple times. Actually had to leave our table to get water. The food is tasty, but is standard Mexican food. My "beef" fajita burrito had very few pieces of "chicken" and was basically a bean burrito for $13.00. The final straw was having to deal with my waiter about my $80 bill for 4 people that should have been $58. He argued with me! Probably won't be going back.

This is the closest thing to Tex-Mex I have found since moving to Florida. Thank you sweet little baby Jesus!!! We were originally planning on going to Downtown Disney to eat but when we saw Chevy's we couldn't resist. I'm glad we didn't. This is a MUST DO for any former Texan that is living in Tampa now and just hasn't been able to get their Tex-Mex fix. Keep in mind it isn't Tex-Mex but hey, I'm not complaining.

Fresh food, great made in house chips and salsa. Beer was cold an good . They have upgraded their atmosphere. I thought it was food before but now I think it's better. Staff was friendly and fast. Worth the drive into this crazy traffic town.

We ate here last nite and found the place was grossly under staffed. Only half of the tables were used. Only 1 bartender for 30 stools and had tend to the servers as well. No busboys or bar backs to assist the over worked staff. We had good service, but we felt sorry for Gregorio. Food was average at best, but way overpriced. Chips n salsa are the best part. C'mon Chevys, put the help wanted sign on the door.

I decided to celebrate my birthday at Chevys this year. I have always enjoyed the food and figured it would be a great spot. This turned out to be a major disappointment. I made the reservations for my birthday dinner at 8:30. I arrived around 8:35 due Disney traffic. I came in to find our table was not even ready. The host that greeted us said there were no large tables available and we would have to wait till someone left. We waited for over half an hour to be seated and the host said we would be given a few appetizers due to our long wait. They seated us in a corner were I guess they never have people sit. We waited 15 min and no one ever came to even get our drink orders! By this point I had enough and went straight to a manager. The manager seemed very laid back about the situation and said he would send us someone asap. We waited around 10 min till a lady came and asked if anyone helped us and then when I said no she said she would get somebody. We reservations were at 8:30 and we didn't place our drink orders till around 9:30! The customer service was just terrible...the worst I and the rest of my table had ever experienced in our lives and we are not being dramatic. We did receive one sample platter that retails at $17 dollars but I had to remind them we were told we would receive two appetizers and they sent us our second late. I felt very embarrassed to have my friends and family that I had invited for my birthday experience such terrible service.

This review is of the balloon man only and not the food or service. It's Chevy's so you know what you are getting when you come in.... BUT the Balloon Man on the other hand, can twist and tie a balloon like nobody's business. He made our table a monkey in a tree (two different balloons), a race car and a barking dog without popping a balloon or keeping the young ones waiting for too long.

Overall we did not find the food to be very authentic. We enjoyed the tortilla chips and that was about it. I ordered the Steak fajitas and they were no different than what you get at a Chili's or Applebee's. They put way too much food on the plate and it doesn't look appetizing. They serve stale spanish rice and black beans that will give you wicked clear the house gas, just ask the members of my household! The service is below average. Our waiter did not explain anything on the menu. We saw people sharing entrees and we would've done that if we had known we could. I asked about items and couldn't get a straight clear answer. No suggestions were made and we felt a bit rushed. Will not be back.

Standard Mexican place in a tourist town. Great margaritas, alway love the table side guac (so you can get it how you want - chunky, purée, spicy or mild). Nothing overly surprising. I would go back. They were able to easily accommodate our larger party, made reservations via yelp thirty min prior to a Saturday evening dinner.

  • Garrin H.

Our meal started with a piece of wood in our guacamole, a fly in my iced tea, cheese in my salad (after I asked for no cheese) and guacamole that was way too spicy. The salad was poor quality - practically no dark green romaine lettuce. The restaurant did make a concerted effort to make-good, so this was appreciated. Improvement is needed however.

Service was good. Didn't have the best fish tacos but my boyfriends chicken quesadilla was really awesome. Prices in general were kinda steep. Portions arnt real big, so if you like to have leftovers this place isn't for you.

The interior was recently redone and is very nice inside. It's more upscale than I expected. Almost a little too nice for Tex Mex. Christine was our server and was amazing through entire meal. She knew the menu well and helped us make selections, took our order without writing it down (I always like that), created our table service guacamole and was very nice. The salsa was very good and clearly fresh. Everyone loved it. It's just a better quality than a standard Mexican restaurant. My wife and I thought the table service guacamole was the best we've ever had. The avocados were fantastic. I think it could be even better with less salt, pepper, and oregano and I would probably omit those next time. The tortillas really stand out. They are soft, a little thicker than normal, and taste great. We had mixed fajitas (chicken, steak, pork, and shrimp) with the tortillas. Each meat was very good as were the grilled veggies. The veggie quesadilla was incredible and the presentation was very nice as well. The pricing is on the upper end of what I'll pay for Tex-Mex (standard fajitas were $18) but I thought is was well worth it. It's perfect for a vacation meal.

Recently visited the Orlando area and was told I should check out Chevys. I'm glad that I did because we had an awesome time. Apparently the restaurant was remodeled and has a very modern feel. Chicken fajitas were very flavorful, tender, and were served sizzling. Oh and the sweet corn cake is to die for! My server recommended the Dos Patron margarita and it was very refreshing. Great margarita! If you're in the Orlando area, I'd definitely visit Chevys.

I have been patronizing this restaurant for lunch on a weekly basis for more than 10 years. I have seen many changes in that time, but I can say that the new menu is absolutely wonderful. They have kept the best salsa and chips in Orlando and many of the very best recipes while adding some amazing new dishes. The Chile Verde in Molcajete is sublime. The restaurant is quite close to Downtown Disney, so you might want to plan your visit for non-peak times. This was over a year ago. The new changes are now complete and the best salsa is long gone. From best to worst! Hard to imagine what they were thinking. Seems like all they care about now is getting folks in for margaritas. Pass! All the great servers are gone. The tremendous local lunch crowd is gone. Our group now goes to another Tex-Mex establishment, What a shame!

A business associate and I had a great dinner experience. The remodeling looks great. The new menu offers a greater and a healthier selection. The service was fantastic. My only complaint is that my server bumped her 20% tip an extra 6%. Next time I will be paying in cash.

We have been going to Chevys for over 10 years, and we love it. The addition of table side guacamole makes it even better. The serves are a delight...especially SARA and AMAL. The manager Joe stops by our table very time we are there to make sure everything is great. Must haves: chicken flautas....guacamole....shredded beef enchiladas.....fajita chicken tostado appetizer.

Stopped in for lunch with a co-worker this past Sunday and was impressed with the remodel. I'm not a fan of the entrance switch, but that's a minor detail. I generally order two items from Chevy's, the tortilla soup and the fried ice cream. The tortilla soup is always missing the cilantro note that I love, but my bartender Jen was accommodating and brought me out an ounce of diced cilantro. My co-worker ordered the chicken flauta appetizer, and they were ok. I was disappointed to find out that the fried ice cream was taken off the menu. Jen recommended the tres leches, and the description sounded different than I was used to so I gave it a shot. It's not something I would order regularly, but it was pretty good. The golden raisins added an interesting textural note, and the tequila cream sauce was a pretty cool touch. Where this restaurant shined was with Jen. A great bartender with a fun and friendly nature. She really earned the majority of the stars. Not quite four stars, I'd honestly give this a 3 3/4 star rating. So I'll round up.

My family hasn't been to Chevy's in many years. The last time we were here the food was average and so was the service. This year, while on vacation, my family decided to give them another chance. We not only had great service and food but we had a great experience! I rarely remember anyone's name but out server Mariah was one of the best! She knew every item on the menu in and out. Her descriptions were spot on and everyone in my family enjoyed their meals. We started with salsa. It had a nice smokey flavor with medium heat. The guacamole cart was great fun and the attendant was more than willing to tweak the mixture until it was just right! Then came our meals. I had the chicken enchiladas with the chipotle sauce. They were really good and just the right portion! If I had to pick one thing they could work on it would be their refrained beans. They were a little heavy on the bacon flavor for me. Overall this experience has changed our opinion of this restaurant and we will defiantly be back!

When they ask if you want a regular size margarita or the "big" one, they are not joking about it being big. It'd be more appropriate to refer to it as the "EFFIN HUGE, YOU ARE GOING TO GET DRUUUUNK TONIGHT" sized margarita. I highly recommend it! The service here was not particularly quick, nor was it excessively slow. We came around 9pm on a weeknight, but there were still a few people dining and drinking. I'd come back here again, but wouldn't go out of my way to stop in.

Better than the average Mex Fare because the food at least tasted distinct. Seems like a chain. Had a couple margaritas. They were good. Mine was very smooth going down (frozen strawberry) and my wife raved about hers (original on rocks). We all liked the chips (standard) and salsa which was a great smoky chipotle flavor. I had the Taste of Chevy (Chevy as in the actor, not the car - if you want to pronounce it right). Chicken taco was weirdly shaped, but made it easier to eat. Maybe they patented that? Also two steak enchiladas, kinda normal, a good tamale, and a side of corn cake (awesome) and beans (wow I liked them). My wife had a couple enchiladas again and enjoyed. The kids ate off the kids meal and plowed thru the quesadilla, taco, and burrito. Make sure you have a couple bucks of cash on you if you come with kids under teenagers or if you like balloon animals. A very nice guy comes around and asks if you want one. He does them for tips. He made an incredible scorpion for Thing 2. Thing 1 got a good lion and our youngest got a cool motorcycle. Much more enjoyable than a flower seller. A flower seller would have starved around our family!

Went there with a small group during happy hour and we all tasted several different specialty drinks, all were outstanding!! The appetizers we had were indeed fresh and homemade on the site! The guacamole was prepared table side for our enjoyment, well worth the order. Chips fresh made for each order. We heard a little history while there about how nothing is canned and everything made on spot, even tortillas and salsa! I highly recommend this place. Atmosphere is clean and snazzy, young adults and families can both feel comfortable. Prices are great! Love, Loved it.

There was only a five minute wait. They gave us ton's of chips and salsa. The wait for our drinks and food took forever. They were out of items, even coffee! They put fetta cheese in our guac! They put fetta cheese in my taco! I didn't realize this was greek tex-mex food? The thing that saved it was the balloon man. The kids loved him.

I would go here just for the chips and salsa! YUM! It was Saturday night and even though this place was busy they sat us pretty quick, about ten minutes. Our server was excellent. The food was fantastic, hot and fresh! The server brought drinks out as needed and checked on us just the right amount. I ordered a dish with the Chilies Rellenos, and it was perfect. The margaritas were huge, but also a little watered down. This is definitely more on the touristy side, but with the good food it's worth it. Secret tip: If you have little kids with you ask for a piece of dough. They will bring you the uncooked tortilla dough and the kids go nuts over it like play dough!

We've been coming to this restaurant for years during vacations in Orlando. The menu changes, but the food, wait staff and decor are always first-rate. On the most recent trip we had the veggie fajitas one night and the steak and chicken fajitas the next. The veggies are fresh and taste good, but they're too huge to eat as fajitas. The yellow squash and zucchini slices were over three inches long and as big around as a thumb. The steak and chicken fajitas were better in this regard. The fresh tortillas, both flour and corn, are better than most Mexican restaurants we've tried in Florida, where good Tex-Mex is hard to find. I wish they offered whole wheat tortillas, as some Chevys locations have done in the past. Even at busy times of day, there's not a long wait to eat here because the dining area is so large. The restaurant is part of the Crossroads shopping center. If you have kids with you, a worker comes to the table to make them balloon animals. We gave him $1 apiece for a sword, machine gun, monkey and duck.

What were you thinking Chevy's? You should have done us the courtesy of changing the name of the restaurant to give us a clue that this is NOT the place that we used to frequent because we won't be back! The new decor does give the place a more intimate feel but beyond that I really haven't much good to say. What Mexican restaurant charges 1.50 for sour cream for your dish? This is not a fine dining establishment and cutsy little dishes don't make up for the tiny pieces of fish is my Fish tacos. The fish tacos that we were accustomed to were delicious and gained the right to be called a fish taco. It wasn't Maui Maui but it didn't need to be to be good! The child's plate had 10x more chicken for half the price of an adult meal; no exaggeration! We had 3 miniature tacos and a tiny bowl of probably 4 Tbsp of beans and no rice . The chips are light and crispy and the salsa is good. We heard at least three of the wait staff trying helplessly to explain the changes. They were obviously embarrassed. You had a great thing but you have ruined it. Hopefully you will listen to the input of those who made you what you were!

We've now been in Florida for four months and have yet to find a quality mexican restaurant until we came across Chevy's Fresh Mex. Well finally this place had the full package! great customer service, perfect salsa, and a plate that two people can share without breaking the bank! The food was tasty and spot on! mmm thanks Chevy's for a great time!

Frozen mango margarita - check. Chips and salsa - check. Smothered beef burrito topped with cheese with refried beans and rice - huge check! The fiesta never left our plates :) Our waiter was hilarious and he made sure that we were taken care of during the hectic night here. Well done, Chevys!

Can i call this a guilty pleasure? I try to avoid the tourist areas of Orlando ESPECIALLY the Crossroads area outside of downtown Disney but I have to say I'll venture to this area for some Chevy's. They start you out with fresh chips and salsa and yes...the chips are salty and greasy and delicious so maybe its a good thing its in the crazy tourist area because the chips alone would lure me in and I'd weigh 500lbs! The margaritas are yummy and theres lots of options and i can actually taste the tequila in it! Gotta love cheap(ish) margaritas that don't skimp on the liquor. The food portions are very large so I get two meals out of it (not so much for my hubby..) so considering the reasonable price I dig it. The entrees again...not on the healthy side...but they totally fulfill my mexican food cravings. There is not a single thing I would not order but I find the pick two or pick three combos are the beat deals and theres lots of mix and match options. Service has usually been really great so no complaints.

I love this place ! The employees are all super nice and on top of their game. The wait wasn't long at all and most importantly the food was delicious. I always try to make a stop here whenever I am in town.

Ugh. Don't bother. There must be somewhere better for Mexican food around here.... Nasty sticky tables, downright rude server bringing our main course literally moments after our starter, Average food at best.. The real fun bit was trying to get out of the parking lot afterwards with tired kids in the car. Who on earth designed that???!!!

Let me just say if you like margaritas this is the place to go!! The are huge!!! My food was great and it was out in a short time. My server was awesome. I like the atmosphere. They also have a full bar. The only negative thing is that my tamale was very mushy!

Chevys is an embarrassment to food. There was a mystery sauce everywhere. Later that night my dad was vomiting and having diarrhea showers. The chips were stale as hell. I'm absolutely surprised it is still in business. I'm a mexican food lover but this is terrible.

Must say that our experience here was quite good - we engaged our waiter in good conversation and the service was simply flawless. I like the menu in the Chevys, their portions are quite large and the flavorful, totally digging that Tex mex thing going on there. Because it is a franchise, it is quite generic, however, the items in the menu are quite diverse and of course, everthing tastes better with good service.

We live in Tampa Bay and get to the Lake Buena Vista area several times a year. We have patronized Chevys numerous times over the years. Before Saturday (11/09/2013), the last time we had been there was spring of this year (2013). We could see some workers outside the restaurant doing some landscaping, but we had no idea that the restaurant had been closed for renovations and just reopened. When we walked in, we couldn't believe the changes. It was a little dark inside and the layout had been changed. When we sat down, we noticed the menu had been considerably pared down and we had to read it all to find out what exactly was on it now. We were pretty taken aback by the prices. From what we remembered, the prices were about 25% more now than before before, but that is our recollection. I felt a little uneasy, though, because in my experience as a restaurant patron, changes to an existing restaurant, especially the menu generally mean the restaurant is in trouble and trying to cut costs and raise profits. This uneasy feeling was confirmed when our order came out. The first sign of trouble was when they brought out the chips and salsa (eventually). We used to get a large basket, but now they come in much smaller baskets. The salsa was great, as usual, a bright spot in a disastrous experience. I ordered the Fresh Mex combo for $12 with one taco and one enchilada. I remember the price being $8.99 previously, but I may be mistaken, it's been a long time. The last time I had this, the plate was pretty big and the food took up the whole plate. This time, I thought they gave me my two year old son's kids meal, because the taco was a 1/3 of the size and the enchilada was pretty small also. The plate was much smaller and there was a lot of empty space on it, probably because the refried beans and rice that I got with it were served in a tiny dish and plate that came alongside the main dish. We were appalled at all of our portions. They should be ashamed of the amount of food in the kids meal for what we paid for it. My son and I were still hungry after eating. When the waitress came over to ask how we were doing, my wife couldn't hold back and told her that we had been to that location numerous times in the past and were extremely disappointed this time. She said she would let the manager know and he would stop by to talk with us. When he did, my wife reiterated her comments and he apologized. He then went on to explain that of the five Chevys that used to be in the area, they were the last one left. It all made sense now. Their previous business model did not work, they were in trouble, and they are now desperately trying to cut costs and raise profits. My uneasy feeling was dead on. Sadly, we will not give this restaurant another chance. They have received the last $50+ from us they are going to. Yeah, that was $50+ for lunch for two adults and one child. I know this is a heavy tourist area, but that is outrageous. I bet they are counting on unsuspecting tourists paying the money, but we know better now. We are going to go to Qdoba just down the road or find a Chipotle close by from now on. We feel like we get what we pay for at those places.

Good food, good environment. The guacamole is made table side and the flour tortilla are made on site. Loses a star only because the staff appear to have too many tables and we sorta felt ignored. The waitress was very busy though. I would come here again.

    I have been coming to Chevys for years...since they have redone the place it's management and food portions have diminished greatly...Fajitas are a must when dining in at Chevys and have always been well worth the price...Since redone, you can forget about decent pricing and food portions..My steak fajitas came out on a bed of around 7 or so onions and 3 carrots? Carrots with fajitas? C'mon. The steak had to of been around 6oz or less and had the appearance of a much smaller cow patty laid in a even smaller onion field. Once the $20 "fajitas" were set in front of me I pondered the thought of rolling a cigarette with a fresh $20 and smoking it at the table knowing I would receive more gratification spending my money that way. To top things off...once we had the manager stop by the table to take care of this customer disatisfaction, we were told in a rude and sarcastic manner that " They have always been served in this size and manner" wrong buddy...The customer is always right. Not the case at Chevys in Lake Buena Vista...we received no appology nor any effort to help our unsatisfactory meal...DO NOT DINE THERE! Our waitress was a sweetheart though.}

The food was awesomely sensational, and it's an achievement that the server accomadate 40 of us grabbing some grub so the service gets (on a scale of 1-145, with 4 being ok, 57 being awesome, and 111 being meh) a 132. Seriously though, go here and enjoy and Chex-de-Bex-Tex-Mex of Orlando.

Another one that is a 3 1/2 star review. Service? STELLAR - Aaron was the nicest guy, very sweet and took off his sleeve to show us his beautiful tatoo when I asked about it. ( I work at a foo foo hotel, I can tell when someone is hiding a tat, all my co-workers do) Very nice guy, attentive and swet. Food? I don't even know what to say... I ordered a Chevys sampler, and MAN it was a sampler. I had things on my plate that were stellar - just delicious and things that were left on the plate because I couldn't eat them I didn't like them that much! Tamales? TO DIE FOR .. delicious. I wish I had ordered a platefull of those. The soup? Ick. water with things thrown in. I did however pick out the roasted corn and avocadoes from it. The enchiladas? So worth skipping, and the taco was sub-par - I mean really? Do we need that Taco Bell hard shell? How about trying to make tacos the authentic way. Ground beef in any Mexican place just isn't my cup of tea.

I am diabetic and don't care for a lot of vinegar, so I ordered the veggie dish with salmon and asked them to bring some Ranch on the side to mask the vinegar taste. They didn't understand and brought me a big plate of rice (huge no-no on my diet) with some salmon. They waitress had clearly explained to me that the veggies are cooked in a vinaigrette and the kitchen didn't understand. Our waitress didn't drop off the plate -- a coworker did -- and it took ten minutes to get her attention. By that time, I had shared my friend's meal and just put this dish off to the side. I was very, very disappointed. When the manager found out, he explained what they had done and why and gave me what I wanted in the first place. It was super. I loved the grilled vegetables. Food was definitely five star, management five star, but it was awkward and I still wish the kitchen had not tried to change what I had ordered!

I went there today, despite a few recent negative reviews. I thought it was good! I was alone, so took a booth in the bar area. There was no wait at 5 on a Thursday in January. The server was prompt and friendly, and she checked in with me regularly. I had a chicken enchilada and soft taco with black beans. The food was fresh and hot, and tasted great. The sauces were a little bland for my taste, but easy enough to amp that up with hot sauce. I concur with other reviewers on the chips, yummy.

Wow! Just had to leave an update on the "new" Chevys. Totally redone with fun up-to-date interior. Some nice new additions to the menu while still offering our favorites from the past menu. Food quality still outstanding, and the service is always friendly & efficient. Even the managers always stop by to see how you enjoyed your food which is a good sign they really care. You get a lot of bang for your buck here. Best Mexican food & easy on the wallet. It's a win/win.

This isn't the type of restaurant that I would normally eat at or admit to liking. However, after a long day at Disney with a 2 year old and a 3 year old, Chevys was a welcome oasis. We were stuck in heavy traffic and ate here out of desperation. The service was excellent. The chips were thin and delicious and the salsa tasted homemade. Our entrees, while not unique or exciting, were actually really good. There were people making balloon animals which thrilled our tired children, and our server brought them tortilla dough to play with. I was dubious and they totally won me over in the end!

Every time we are in Orlando we have to stop in Chevys. Their food is always delicious and the service is always on. You absolutely must try the shrimp and crab enchiladas. My only wish is that they would do away with the balloon people because my kids always beg us for a balloon. Really it's not that bad - just annoying because you feel pressured to tip them. We'll continue to stop by when we visit. Oh, and don't forget the margaritas!

Been awhile (years) since eating at a Chevy's. Was looking forward to some tasty Mexican but well not so much. More Tex Mex than I remember and what is this? A taco in a pre made taco bell style shell? Yuck. I had the super cinco that was a pork tamale, ground beef taco, chicken enchilada beef enchilada and a chile relleno. The chile relleno was the highlight, but that's not saying much. I cook better Mexican food at home.

Burritos and Tacos for dinner. The prices are up and the service is down, not going in the right direction. Chevys is chain, but with only a limited number of places. This one in Orlando was always good. Based on our last meal and now this one we will not be back! The service was POOR, and food over spicy and prices were about $2-3 per item to high.

We went to the Chevy's in Lake Buena Vista, on our 3 day visit to Orlando. We waited for over 5 minutes for the Hostess to come over, she was talking to a man over in the corner, she finally seated the couple before us, then it was our turn. We waited another almost 10 minutes before our server came over. When he finally did, his uniform was filthy. The apron was beyond dirty and stained. His shirt was too big, hanging off of one shoulder, and it was also dirty, and his pants were hanging off, and dirty. If he had not been working we would have thought he was a homeless person. He was every polite and efficient, but so dirty we almost left, but we were starving and we had already waited so long. The table was dirty and had crumbs on it, and the floor was so dirty I could have made a complete fajita from what was under there. The food, when it finally came, was good, although greasy, but we will never go back there ever. We would have been better off at McDonald's next store. Less dirty, greasy and certainly cheaper.

If you LOVE Mexican food, you will love Chevy's. We've eaten there several times after a long day of shopping at one of Orlando's outlet malls. As the name implies, every time we've gone the food has been fresh and tasty. If you're in a drinking mood, their frozen Margarita's are pretty fabulous too!

I recently went to Chevys while vacationing in Naples. The restaurant was clean, updated, had many food options to choose from, and I experienced great service. I also was very pleased with the guacamole!! I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone. I will be back for sure!

Almost worth 5 stars. Really nothing wrong with it at all - I'm just reserving that 5-star Mexican review for somewhere truly transcendent. The staff here are excellent - attentive, quick, accurate. The food is fresh, as in fresh-mex. The prices feel downright reasonable after Disney (and the quality is seriously better than any Disney Mexican offering). My favorite: Table side guacamole!

  • Brian S.

Not bad, but have had better. Ordered fish tacos, which wet mesquite grilled salmon. Used to tilapia, so it was different. Non alcoholic piña coladas were excellent, big, and only $3.00. Good if you are in a Tex Mex pinch.

**I'm writing this review from the perspective of dining here just as a couple and usually just grabbing a bar table instead of the regular seating. My wife and I go here often when we're over in Orlando going to Disney. Their house salsa is really good and has kind of a smoky taste to it without too much heat. The chips they serve with it are kind of wimpy & generic, though. They do a table-side prepared guacamole which is always delicious (and comes with different, more sturdy chips). And their carnitas fajitas are very good also. But probably our favorite thing that they make their is just their chicken tortilla soup. It...is...SO GOOD. I wish I could find a copy recipe to recreate it at home because, oh man, it's awesome. So many flavors going on and they all are perfect together. If you don't mind a higher seating, you can usually just walk in and grab a bar table almost immediately. The service there tends to be a little quicker also, it seems.

One word... ew. Poor excuse for "Mexican" food. But then again, this IS Florida, what do they know about Mexicans? (I may have been the only one in the city) The quality of food is so poor. And the service is "no bueno." I wish I could give it zero stars. Maybe this place is okay for people who don't know what real Mexican food is? Okay, maybe I'm being bias... I AM from Cali after all... that's where it's at! ; ) But really... ick.

Some of the best Mexican I've had in some time. Great salsa, guacamole and chips. Salsa is fresh made in-house. Shrimp and crap enchiladas were awesome as were the chicken flautas. Good kids menu as well. All-in-all we were surprised and very happy with our meal. Amidst all of the Orlando mediocre restaurants catering to the Disney crowds this one was a pleasant surprise. Highly recommend.

We really enjoy this place when we go to Orlando. Good food and close to Downtown Disney where we often stay. My husband claims that the beans here are the best he has ever eaten and he grew up in a spanish family. The salsa and margaritas are to die for.

Chevys, a chain restaurant service "fresh mex," has two locations around Orlando. I recently visited the Lake Buena Vista restaurant to met a friend of mine for Happy Hour. I walked into the restaurant around 5:30 and was surprised by the crowd of people that were already congregated in the bar area and in most of the dining room booths. On the few times when I've been to this location before, I've always sat outside on the patio, entering and exiting from there. I am not sure if this is how the crowd levels are every weekend, but it certainly added to the festive after-work celebration that we were all partaking in. My friend had arrived first and already grabbed a table for us, so I found the reserved booth and settled in. Before we had even exchanged our "hello's", our server approached and asked if she could get me anything. Despite the full section of tables, she quickly returned with my beverage. Over the next 20 minutes, she stopped by twice to see if we needed anything and managed to do so without being pushy or unpleasant. My friend ordered the Fresh Mex Carnitas Quesadilla and a margarita, and I got a cheese enchilada. Our water glasses and chip basket stayed filled the entire time, being promptly topped off before we would even think to ask for more. The margarita was not as quick to arrive as the first round of drinks, and came out at the same time as the food. The quesadilla was one of the biggest I've ever seen and my friend said it was delicious. My cheese enchilada was ok, not particularly good or bad. I can't complain about a $3.99 item off of the "a la carte" menu. While we ate, we were entertained by a wandering balloon artist that was going from table to table making anything from hats to poodles to multicolored flower bouquets for kids and adults alike. After boxing up the remaining quesadilla and paying our tab ($18 for the 'dilla and 'rita and $4.24 for my side item), we headed for the door. If you're looking for a festive atmosphere, an easily approachable Mexican menu, and you're happy to trade a little authenticity for convenience, you can't go wrong with Chevys.

I'm a big fan of Mexican food. Which is shown by my having been to two different Chevy's. And this specific Chevy's is my favorite. I came here for happy hour when I was in town a while ago. I shared a plate of appetizers with my friend (around $5 during happy hours & {if I'm not mistaken} it's usually around $11-$13). The margaritas were awesome. I had the Mango & Strawberry that day!! I'm a huge fan of these. The margaritas had a good kick of tequila.. YUM!! Compared to the other Chevy's I've been too, this one had more kick in it's salsa; which is something I love.

I had never heard of this place prior to arriving in Orlando but boy am I a fan now!!! Freshly made.....well....EVERYTHING!! Table side Guac, fresh tortillas made every hour in the dining room and what was probably the best fish taco that I have ever tasted. $4 Happy hour margaritas and not the glass full of rita mix with a splash of cheap tequila kind either. Just a few minutes from Downtown Disney - GREAT VALUE!!!!

This is the best option in the Crossroads / Downtown Disney area for Mexican. That being said - it's average food with decent service and LOOOOOONG waits for tables. Food wise - you know what you are getting into when you go to a place like Chevy's. Good chips and salsa, decent Tex Mex food at about 10 bucks an entree and lots o' types of Margaritas and Daiquiris. I had the Chicken Fajitas which were average taste but bigger than normal portion and my dining companion got the veggie quesadilla which had a yummy parmesan crust. First basket of chips was delicious, second was greasy and soggy. Desert was Sopapillas which were bizarrely salty.. like almost uneatable. Really strange. They do have a better than normal selection of Mexican Beer including ones rarely seen on the east coast like Pacifico. Service is fast, restaurant is LOUD and expect VERY long waits for tables during any holiday season or on weekends that the parks are busy. This restaurant is located in the Crossroads shopping center which is within walking distance of Downtown Disney.

Yet another birthday lunch rolled around and of course we ended up here again (see my original review). I had to bump the rating up a star because I actually found something I really enjoyed. I ordered the steak fajitas with black beans. The steak was very tender and cooked perfectly. I asked them to KILL the onions and peppers and they obliged. The onions were mostly black, sooooo good! I love charcoal onions, LOL! The black beans were really tasty with some sour cream mixed in. I was very impressed and now I know what to order next time:o)

We live in nj, but every time we come to Florida for vacation, which is a few times a year, we come the Chevy's specifically for the made to order guacamole. The food is fantastic & the kids love the balloon animal person that comes to the table. But the reason I chose to write a review on this specific experience is because of our server, Alvaro. He was courteous , polite, attentive and anticipated our needs before we even asked. This was by far the best experience we've had with a waiter. He surpassed our expectations , and certainly needs to be recognized for it. We definitely made sure we complimented his service to the manager. If you have the pleasure of eating at chevy's, I highly recommend you request Alvaro , it will certainly enhance your experience!

My wife and I payed a visit during our stay at Disney World. I had signed up online for a discount coupon from their website ($5 off a $25 order). I ordered the Mexican Hat Trick which included salad, two grilled fajita tacos, spicy rice, refried beans and for desert fried ice cream. Plenty of food for about $10. Great service, food was pretty normal for Mexican. They also bring you chips and salsa before the meal. Didn't care for the salsa, it was the cold variety. Overall a great place, great price if you like Mexican.

Use to go this location regularly. Now that it is the only location left on orlando, as they closed all the other stores. So I take my family as I usually do. I guess they had a new change in policies as when I requested a booth and a high hair, they tried seating us next to the bar. I kindly asked the hostess if we could not sit there as I don't want my kids that close to the bar. She replied "NO, this is the only place we are allowed to put high hairs ". Since when? I've been coming here since you opened and never been told this. So I asked to speak to the manger. At this point the restaurant is virtually empty. Manager comes over, apologizes and says you can sit at any of the tables with a high hair. I can't sit at a table as I have back problems. Manager was indifferent and didn't care so we left and as we were leaving the hosts were giggling at us. No wonder they closed all their other locations! Too bad this used to be one of favorite restaurants! So if you go here, be forewarned.

We are visiting and mostly agree that Florida is not great for Mexican food. However, this was pretty good. The Salsa for the chips was the best I have seen in a long time. We ordered the 3 course meal and I had a very good ceasar salad, followed by a lunch size chicken fajita. The taco was very nice and think and the chicken was very tasty. Then I had the flan dessert to finish things off. This was very tasty, but a bit hard. What I did notice is that they did not have enough bus staff to clear the tables. This slowed down turnover and prolonged the meal. Our waitress mentioned they changed the compensation which was now making it hard to keep staff. Overall this place reminded me of Rio Bravo chain which we always enjoyed.

We stopped in for dinner after a long HOT day in the park. We were told a 20 minute wait, not bad, but were able to be seated at a booth in the bar area in about 30 seconds. The Waiter, Brett, introduced himself and the visit went up from there. The food was good but the service made this stop worth the trip.

Great food and fantastic service. We received our very delicious meal in about 5 minutes after ordering it. Waiter was very attentive and made sure we were well taken care. They also did not skimp on the tequila in out margaritas!

Most Chevy's I give 3 stars to, at least in my head. This one really has to deserve 4 stars for service and the patience of saints. I've gone here a couple times when at the Disney properties, and just want to not deal with Disney music. The service is always very attentive, but here's why they are a 4 star vs. a 3 star restaurant. I want this abundantly clear, so no one thinks I've lost it by givng Chevy's 4 stars... They serve all of the sick of Disney people and their families. People who have been overly treated by perky, smiling through their teeth folks, and are sick of talking mice, ducks, and flume rides. They are friendly, but give people space, serve alcohol, and don't have canned responses, and deal with people who due to over exposure, have forgotten how to pay a check at a table, and take a deep breath. They allow me to have a moment of normalcy while in Orlando, and for that alone, they deserve 4 stars.

While on a weekend trip with friends to Orlando, FL we stopped in for lunch at Chevy's... Horrible decision. As we were walking to our table one of the waitresses squeezed in between us and the customers already dining, making me move to the side with my six month old daughter in my arms. Not even a little "excuse me" came from her mouth. We were seated in a VERY noisy area, the kids were given coloring pages that doubled as the menu with NO crayons. Our waiter (a squirrely looking man with glasses and a silver hoop in his ear) came to the table and was immediately overwhelmed with the situation. He took our drink order and repeatedly asked how to split the checks. We ordered drinks,a couple of appetizers, and a bowl of soup. The drinks, chile con queso, quacamole, and soup were delivered to the table with no chips, no plates, and an added bonus? Hair in the soup..YUMM. After repeatedly asking for plates we all just decided to dig in.. once we had the chips, of course. About 30 minutes into the whole ordeal we had not ordered any entrees and were pretty much being ignored. Our waiter must have told the manager about the hair in the soup situation, so the manger came over to the table to talk with us. He apologizes and assures us he will make sure our meals are on there way to the table-ASAP. Only thing is..we didn't order any meals yet. BOTH families were fed up and just ready to leave. We received the checks which were completely wrong... Just as the manager realizes that we haven't even ordered yet. Then he did the ONLY decent thing that happened in that restaurant, told us to go ahead and go, he would take care of the bill for our drinks and appetizers. We thanked him and left promptly and went to Orlando Ale House.Good decision. Another point I would like to add is that we were told numerous times by a few different people that they were making new chips and that's why it took sooo long for them to get to our table. The only problem I have with the excuse they used was that the chips were stale.

I am a huge Mexican food fan so I have ate some of every where but when I say this I don't believe it myself. The chicken fajitas here are the best I have ever had it is not very cheap but for something this good $13 fajitas is a must have ooohhhh mmmmyyyyy.

We came here for an early dinner at 5pm and the place was already getting packed with families coming out of Disney. The place was really kids-friendly. Almost every single table had at least one kid. I think they're really used to having a ton of kids dining there. The food was the same as I've had in other Chevy's in other parts of the country. I guess when you come here, you know what you're getting.

Not a bad place, when you're on vacation and tired of getting hit in the wallet all the time, this place is a nice change of pace. The prices are a little high for Mexican food, but if there are two of you and you don't eat a lot, you can split the large portions. the queso was good (yellow) and the tamale was excellent!

Awesome Mexican food! Really can't stress that enough. Spices are good and there's also a great selection of different Mex food. I highly recommend this place to anyone who loves spice and a nice friendly atmosphere.

The good thing about chains is you can usually anticipate the quality, since they usually get their stuff pre-made from the same source. Unfortunately, this Chevy's is just mediocre. The 3 stars is for the service; our waitress and the waiters around us were very friendly and accomodating. However, Orlando has become price-predatory for tourists, and this location is no exception.

9/7/2011 Went to Chevy's for quick bite after shopping at outlets & Disney. Salsa was fresh but had too much cilantro for my tastes and chips were very thin but were warm. I had a pork tamale and chicken enchilada combo and the tamale was great. Boyfriend had carnitas fajitas & really enjoyed the meal. Typical chain tex-mex but better than some of the other strip mall stuff near Disney. Was not crowded at 4pm but was much busier when we left at 5:15 so don't expect a quiet meal. Service was excellent

Come for the kick-butt salsa, stay for the kids. Food was top notch all around. If you are a guacamole fiend like me, get the "table" guac that they make for you at, you guessed it, your table. It's some of the best I've had. Balloon animals will be made for the kids on request too. Nice atmosphere and great for families with or without kids.

I visit Orlando every couple of years to pay homage to the mouse. And the past three times I've here over the past eight years, I've always visited this Chevy's. Every time I'm here, I'm impressed with the quality of food and the speed and friendliness of the service. These folks are amazing. You can't go wrong bringing the family here.

What a nice and quick dining experience! I have limited options of what to eat on Vegetarian Fridays, and it was a nice surprise to realize that there were a few different options for me. We sat in the bar area, and the food was very quick and reasonably priced for the amount of food there was, we both took home doggie bags. I had the mahi fish tacos, while my roommate had the shrimp and crab enchiladas....mine was good but hers was AMAZING. It was great to eat somewhere near the theme parks, but although the price was comparable to theme park pricing, there was twice as much food and it was great. We'll go back again soon!

This place has been my "family restaurant" since well... I can remember. When my dad's in town my whole family goes out for a nice, Saturday night family dinner. We used to go to the one in Kissimmee, since it was closer. But unfourtanetly they have shut down. We are such fans of this place we don't care that we have to drive a hour just to go here. The chips and salsa( in my opinion) are the best you can get! I usually get either the Chicken tacos, with black beans. Or if I am really hungry ( and know I am gonna eat it all) I get the chicken burrito.

After a week of Disney food, I cancelled our reservation at the Mexican restaurant in Epcot to try Chevy's. We arrived around 6 pm and we're seated immediately. I don't believe they take reservations. The restaurant was very busy and the people behind us were told there would be a 25 minute wait. Our server was very prompt and courteous. Immediately after our drink order was taken they came to our table with tableside guacamole. I've had fresh guacamole many times, but this was truly excellent! Based on a previous reviewer, we ordered the nachos grande with pork. It was outstanding. That combined with the guacamole was almost a meal alone. Despite how busy the restaurant was, our food arrived promptly and was exactly as ordered. I ordered a combination plate that included a seafood enchilada and a fish taco. I had fish tacos many times in Southern California, but I can tell you this was among the best I've ever had. Overall we had an outstanding meal, and despite ordering two appetizers we spent far less than any comparable meal in the parks.

I will start with the good. Rick our server was attentive and polite. The veggie quesadilla was very tasty, a dish I would order again and I am a "meat" person. The shrimp and crab enchilada is a good meal, the refried beans to die for but the rice was dry. The only drink we ordered was the ginger peach sangria. Good flavor as well but not much of ginger detected. Now the negatives, my table was dirty when we sat down and had to flag the busboy down. Once we wiped down the table I opened my cutlery only to find dirty utensils. Rick was happy to bring a fresh setup. While my sangria tasted good the first one was sent back because of black debris floating in it (white sangria) Did not visit the ladies room so can't say it was or was not clean. The both next to (empty) had a filthy floor, food, napkins and such. The rest of the dining area was neat. I just think the busboy over looked it which maybe why he was telling a server that busing was not hard and he found "really easy". As a business owner nothing is more disturbing than to see staff just standing around when the business is not busy. If they were to take care of the things I mentioned the restaurant could be a step above the others. That being said, I do think I would Chevy's again

So hard to find decent food in touristy areas! Based on other reviewers, decided to give this place a try, even though I was a bit hesitant, as I was able to book a large table, just a few hours in advance. Luckily, was pleasantly pleased! My party actually arrived before I did and they were already on round 2 of the complimentary salsa and chips and were raving about them! Half our group, including me shared a sampler appetizer, fajita salad (yum! One of my fave that night), Baja sampler (spicy!), and chose steak soft taco and cheese enchilada, carnitas something. All were very tasty and a good portion. We even had leftover steak taco, which was also pretty good the next day. We didn't order the guacamole, but the table next to us did, so we were able to enjoy the table side show and was impressed they used two whole large avocados. Would recommend and also a good place to try and get some greens!

The food is really great. Not only the food but also the place and atmosphere is great. I never miss an opportunity to eat there when I came to Orlando. My favorite plate is Mixed Grill and strawberry lemonade, try it sometime and you won't regret for sure.

Great place for lunch. Looking to get away the crowds? Then this is the place. Looking to get away from the traffic? Then this is the place. They seated our party of four immediately, and then places chips and salsa in front of us..... not a bad way to start a meal with four hungry people. the orders ran the menu from Shrimp & Crab 'Dilla to Fish Taco's we managed to sample it all. Great service mixed with tasty food, 3 stars.

The food was absolutely delicious. My family all agreed that it was the best Mexican food they had ever had. My wife had the vegetable burrito and it was outstanding. The salsa was perfect, and the queso had just the right amount of spices in it. It wasn't very crowded at all. The food gets five stars, but the service only a three. That's why I'm going with a four star for the restaurant. I had to ask our waiter three times to bring us more chips, and to get our drinks refilled. He may have just been having a bad day. I highly recommend this place!

Really good food! I came here with my parents and ordered the Mexican Sampler and chicken and steak fajitas! Delicious! The staff was super friendly. Had a great time there with my fiancée and our server John was very attentive and helpful in explaining menu items and making suggestions. The queso was really good, and both the steak fajitas and the fish tacos(with mahi mahi) were delicious. I'd definitely return again, and recommend it to a friend.

Holy food overload! My other half and I decided to visit on a whim before going to the movies. For a Friday night at about 6, we had no problems getting a booth in the bar area without reservations. We both ordered margaritas which were out of this world! I wish I could remember what they were the chips and salsa on the house and really good and we also ordered Queso to go with it; delicious! We both ordered chimichangas: one chicken and one beef. When the food came out I was shocked; the portions were huge! A giant chimi, plus sweet corn on the side (easily my favorite part) plus rice and beans! Why did I eat all those chips????? I could barely finish the chimi and I didn't even touch my rice and beans on the side... I felt so bad, but I just couldn't do it, I was already rolling out of there! I deducted one star b/c I felt the amount of meat in my meal was below average but like I said, there was definitely plenty of food overall! Also, disney cast members get 20% off all food. Yippee!

i have been dining at Chevy's for over 12 years. Ocoee, and 535 by Disney. I love the tortillas, chips, salsa, but my go to fajita meal is the bestest. Every year I celebrate my birthday at Chevy's and bring family and friends. I enjoy the complimentary birthday dinner. but this year, I did not get an email and I was really disappointed... Anyway, I still love you guys.

Best Mexican food we've had. Coming from the mid west we're used to the quality of Mexican food being average at best. This restaurant beats all the other ones we've tried so far. The salsa is delish, ordered 3 rounds of chips and salsa plus our regular meal. And my margarita was amaze, made with fresh pureed strawberries, the Sopapilla desert was out of this world and they really made our son's birthday special. Aahhhhhh YUM to say the least. This will be our preferred Mexican location whenever we'll be south.

your average mexican fare. I went to order an appetizer and they told me they were out of the plantains because they came molded ! We enjoyed the big nachos and the the sizziling fajita salad was good and the quesidillas but the burrito and fajitas were okay. Many other choices to choose from in the area. The Queso fundido was just okay too.

Great place for happy hour or late night happy hour. Try the ahi tuna tacos! They come with habanero salsa. They also do a homemade tableside guacamole for a much better price than Rocco's. (shh) Drinks are great. Chips and salsa here is amazing. Really love this place for the bar and they redecorated recently so it is like a whole new restaurant. Even have an outdoor bar with a large TV!

My family and I have been going to Chevy's for years.. We frequent this restaurant at least 1-2 times a month. With that being said.. it's been slowly going down-hill over the past few visits. For example. I visited on 2/28 with a few of my friends.. We arrived around 4:30.. plenty of tables available. Yet had to wait 10 mins to sit. While waiting I went to the restroom.. It was a disaster.. Every time I visit this establish the restroom is in shambles. And that's apparently OK because this past time an employee was walking out as I entered.. She didn't bother to take note and clean it up. Toilet paper was all over the floor.. all of the toilets were clogged and un-flushed.. puddles of water around the sinks.. one stall even had a entire dispenser for the toilet paper laying on the ground. Aside from dirty restrooms.. the floor of the restaurant is dangerously slippery. You have to take caution with each step so as not to slip and fall. On one visit I watched as a waiter did slip and fall while carrying multiple dinners. Finally when we were seated.. we had to wait before we could actually sit because the table was not properly whipped clean. Food was still on the table.. and what was 'cleaned' was not collected on the seats. Wrapping this up. The service has gone down hill. After sitting it's a chore just to get your servers attention.. let alone any server. It was mid way into our appetizer before our server checked on us and we were able to ask for plats AND utensils. (two visits I have had to ask to receive utensils) When we finally received our meal we were missing sauce... I looked around for probably a good 10 mins before I was able to get someone's attention to get it. Then that took another 5 mins to receive. Paying and leaving is just as hard.. We waited and waited and waited after finishing our meal before she finally came over to us to take note we wanted to leave. Then getting the check..more intense prolonged waiting.. paying and getting receipts.. that actually took so long another server brought the receipts back. Get it together Chevys! You have great food but poor practice in keeping the place clean. And you have all these people running around but not really catering to the customers.

I had big expectations for a "fresh" Mexican spot. It was just ok. I had a nice salad with lime dressing. Hubs had to send back something from his combo because it was inedible. They quickly replaced with a taco, so the service was on point.

Ok but disappointed. Queso is basically velveeta and rotel... No white queso here. No bottled hot sauce?? Maybe it's me but bring some heat for godsakes. The habanero salsa wasn't even mild.

This location has always been a part of our yearly visit to Orlando, but we were surprised with the many changes this year. First of all the entrance location changed and there was no signage indicating where it was from the old entrance. We just had to find it - not a big deal. Upon entering we noticed the remodel of the interior which looked great. However, from this point we were disappointed. Our server assured us that even though the look of the restaurant had changed, none of the menu items have changed as we SPECIFICALLY come here for the fried ice cream. Of course we find out that has been removed from the menu and so we settled on some other dessert offerings since we were already there. The food was fine and the chips and salsa were excellent. However, I don't know if we will continue to visit this restaurant next year since we know we'll just be disappointed because of the lack of fried ice cream. Hey, at least we had a good 10+ years together. Looks like another business will have to take our money after all the long days outlet shopping in the area. It is crazy that I still get the Chevys emails advertising the fried ice cream when it's no longer available at all locations. False advertising :(

I have been to this location multiple times. Every time I'm with a large group of people someone craves Mexican food. So we go back thinking the service will be better than the last. We're wrong, for another time. The service is some of the worst. I have had better service from the Waffle House a quarter mile away. The only reason I'm giving them two stars is due to their kitchen being extremely good. But the wait staff is horrid. Management, please get your shit together and learn how to check on tables and train your wait staff. -A

Very tasty food, and good value. Definitely come hungry as the portions are large and very filling. My husband and I split dessert and between the two of us, barely got through it. Ask for daily specials not on the menu. We will definitely be returning.

I have to tell you that I have never been a big fan of Chevy's, same old American/Mexican slop and slap some sour cream on it and there you go... But I was talked into visiting this week and I was floored. First of all, they brought a richer feel with the decor and got rid of the lost in the 90's Chili's vibe. I had the Barbacoa enchiladas and it was fantastic, could have put down a 3rd one. That would be my only complaint (2 enchiladas on plate) and should offer the choice of 2 or 3. They had a little kick, which was nice. Not to many places go ahead and give the kick as to not offend the cattle... But the kick was just right not to overwhelm... Please don't change this! If you haven't been in a while, make a point to visit, you should be pleasantly surprised.

This is really a bad place. How Tex-Mex can be ruined I have no ideal. The wait staff was terrible. Unprofessional and completely unconcerned. The kitchen staff may have been under the influence. Chicken fajitas were cooked so hard they were more like chicken jerky. No vegetables hardly. Most of the food needs seasoning. Food was served cold. Honestly avoid this place! Go to Cheys!!!

Living in South Florida, we always look forward to coming up to Orlando to eat at this Chevys! It has been a tradition of ours for as long as I can remember. Sadly this tradition ends tonight. Not only has the food gone completely downhill. The service was horrible. The Manager, "Virgil" (if that is his real name since he knew I was going to compain), could care less about his customers or their happiness. My children (self proclaimed "foodies") ordered shrimp fajitas off the kids menu. We knew full well we would have to pay extra to have the chicken substituted for shrimp, and had no problem with that. What came out was shrimp on a plate. Where they get off calling that "FAJITAS " is beyond me. The waiter/manager could care less. My husband and I had to share our vegetables off our own plates in order to make it a somewhat decent meal for them. This restaurant needs a total overhaul if its to survive, but either way, they won't be seeing us anymore. People can break a restaurant, as demonstrated tonight.

I have not eaten at this Chevy's in several years. It looks as though it has been recently renovated, very nice atmosphere. 5 of us decided to eat and when we came in, it did not look too busy, but there was no hostess manning the stand. The bartender told us the hostess was coming, and within a minute, there they were. We were seated and greeted by our server and given menus. We ordered some drinks and then perused the menu. It took a little while for our server to come back, not a huge amount of time, but longer than it should have. It seemed that everybody was scurrying about, a bit overwhelmed and the restaurant wasn't that busy. Chips and Salsa, which usually come out pretty quickly, were brought out with our drinks. They were awesome, as I remember. He took our food order, and the food did come out fairly quickly. We had Queso dip, which was like yellow Velveeta, not impressed at all. We also had Table-side Guacamole, which we all thought had too much lime and the cilantro was too "chunky." It should have been chopped finer and there were too many stems in it. The Fish Tacos were excellent, as was most everybody else's main courses. Overall, it was good and fresh, but the service should be addressed by management, take more care and time to prepare the Guacamole ingredients and they need to drop the Queso dip from the menu, or use proper cheese.

Apparently while I was out, they closed for over two months, gutted the interior and gave the menu a do over. Yes, they still have really good chips and salsa, but they no longer have "El Machino" as the focus point of the restaurant. "El Machino" a/k/a the Tortilla Maker, is still alive and well, but he has taken a back seat, behind the scenes approach to the all new re-envisioned Chevy's Fresh Mex. The interior now has a modern yet rustic feel. Hand blown glass chandeliers and special light fixtures have been imported from Mexico, along with artwork adorning the walls that was designed specifically for Chevy's Lake Buena Vista location. Replacing "El Machino" is an expanded bar section that pretty much runs from the entrance to the back of the restaurant. Of course they did add the obligatory flat screens, but not so much that it takes away from your dining experience. Speaking of the bar, there have been several additions to the drink menu and some reworks to the old classics and the food is so much better and more flavorful now.

We eat authentic Mexican food frequently. We have traveled to Mexico many times.Fresh food and service are the most important ingredients of the finest dining experience. This Chevy's location is the best one we have ever been to. We have been here many times . The food is always hot and fresh! The house made chips and salsa are fantastic. The pork carnitas was delicious. We were a party of six today and our server "Wes " was the wonderful. Virgil is the manager , also checked on us.Much better value than the other options in the Disney area.Keep up the great work

My family and I have been going to Chevy's for years -- this week they went out of their way to accommodate a non-menu item (some diners like a simple grilled chicken sandwich but typically Chevy's does not offer bread, buns, etc) THANK YOU to our server and kitchen manager for taking care of our family with this request. As a result we returned while we were vacationing and enjoyed sitting outside, the cocktails, and passed on the suggestion to our server that the nachos need more portions -sadly both times someone ordered them and both times the toppings were minimal. They are always our go to table app. Also the side of salad dressing/salsa for fajita salad is not nearly enough and patrons hate asking the server for more, but it wasn't even a teaspoon amount.

While I was on vacation in Orlando for 8 days, my friend and I decided to try this place. I have to say our waiter Michael was very attentive and friendly. He took our drinks order right away and brought us some amazing chip and salsa to start with. He had recommended a few food choices and I got the chicken enchiladas and my friend got the seafood enchiladas. The two entree we got were delicious! Nonetheless, he came around and refill our drinks without us asking for it. Overall, the food was great compare to any other restaurant near Downtown Disney. What made our experience amazing was the customer service we got from our waiter Michael.

So happy to see the "new" menu concept for this chain has stayed on in Orlando. Can't wait for them to do this concept in Miami. Ask for Katherine, she is awesome! Get the chicken flautas - they are addicting. Get a side of their home made ranch to cut down on the salsa's heat. Clean, great taste, and fast service. Great music too!

Food was OK. My server looks very tired, sweat all over his head and face. He took our order in the same times he wipe out his face. Something that I don't want to see it before I eat :( I just ate few bites and done....

I'm from Texas, so I'm hard to impress when it comes to Mexican food. It's one of my favorite types of food to eat and I eat just about every other day. That being said, I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed Chevys. My experience with Mexican food in Flordia has not been that great, however I now know that not all hope is lost! The ahi tuna tacos were a great little snack, but my favorite dish was the chicken taquitos that my fiance ordered. I helped myself to most of his dish because they were so good! Plus, during happy hour there margaritas were $3.25! Now my liking for this place all makes sense...

I really loved this place! When I made the reservation I did not know it was a chain. So when I found that out, I was a little worried. However, everything about dinner was fantastic. The waiter was absolutely great. I had a patron margarita, which was just perfect. For dinner, I had a pulled pork appetizer with plantains, which was more than enough for a meal. I don't have desert often, but it's hard to pass up flan! Yes, it was worth it! I'd definitely go back next time I'm in Orlando....

Liked the food and the Margarita I ordered. Chile Colorado was nice tasty chunks of beef in a delicious sauce. My kids also liked their food as well. Overpriced I thought for average Mexican food.

This was the worst Mexican food I have ever had. The guacamole was as salty as the Dead Sea. The queso dip was more like knockoff Broccoli cheddar soup from panera bread, but worse. Steer clear, DO YOU HEAR ME?

Went to chevy's again and the food and service was on point this time. Sierra was at our table always at the right time and the manager did rounds to make sure everyone was enjoying their meal. we first ordered that awesome queso. Damn is that stuff liquid unami. the entree was ribs. Unfortunately the ribs came out room temperature and cold in between. the manager came to check maybe one rib in apologized and replaced it with hot fresh ribs, his timing was great but the portion i received was half the size of what i ordered. Maybe they thought i ordered a half portion anyways they were still awesome the 2nd time around. we will be back again chevys. Good rebound even though it didn't come without minor flaws.

In town for the usual Orlando tourist stuff. I'm not a chain restaurant fan and I usually go out of my way to avoid them, but our family needed something quick before going to see Gallegher. We had an amazingly friendly server, Meredith. She was attentive, got us everything we needed quickly and our order perfect. If they have Watermelon Margaritas you must try! YUM! Refreshing, and hey, we were going to see Gallegher, so a must do! The queso was scrumptious and I really loved the Carnitas soft taco. The manager was also pleasant and made sure everyone was satisfied. We'll certainly be back!

Waited 10 minutes before the waitress took our drink order. The chicken enchiladas were cold and tastes disgusting and the salsa tasted like bbq sauce and the carne esada tasted like teriyaki! Horrible

We went the first night at Disney & loved it. Food was great as was service. We went back a second time, and were so bummed. We wanted to celebrate my 40th in a chill- fashion as hubby was there for work & I was just tagging along so that we could "celebrate". I was so sad to walk in and wait and wiat and wait while a hostess was helping a huge pre-booked party get seated. Just thought for prebookings they may have extra help on hand. Sadly, we went across the street to Red Lobster which wasn't what I wanted. :-( Oh well, better luck on my 50th! Will say the food was good but just was super bummed to stand there and be looked at but never greeted and waited forever..... Hopefully they can figure that out because after all, as I have said multiple times: love the food!

Outstanding. Ordered the flautas. Best ever had in any Mexican joint. Flavor and presentation wise. And the mixed fajitas, not only excellent but plenty enough for two. The waiter, Dinorah was really good. Made spot on recommendations. Will def come back. Oh and the prices. Very reasonable. Fast service. Clean bathrooms

After a long day in the heat of Downtown Disney, you want something to eat and drink. You look around at DD, and after awaking from your price induced heart attack, you decide to check your trusty Yelp app and look back in the real world. Yes, before I get blasted, I'm aware that this is a chain Tex-Mex restaurant and not considered by some to be "real food." To that, I have to say Ppfffftttthhhh! I had read on the app that they had a good happy hour, which was something that I really needed. The margaritas were only four dollars for a real sized drink, as opposed to the ones at DD which were $12+ for a small one. The restaurant was cool, nicely dim and relaxing. We were seated in a corner booth, towards the back.......they had probably heard about us. But we like it where it's quiet and we can be silly without attracting too many stares. Okay, forget about the giant flower mouse ears we were wearing and just move on. We were met in very short order by the cheery Katarina. We asked immediately about the happy hour drink deals. She apologized and told us that the deal was only for patrons seated at the bar. Now, what kind of sense does that make?? There went one star, I said to myself. Our faces fell and we both ordered water. Only a moment later she was back. She had asked the bartender and he agreed to serve us the drinks at the low price. She didn't have to do that. So we ordered mango margaritas. The were there almost immediately, and they were really good. The star was back in the review. They had just the right amount of mango and just the right amount of tequila. I would have liked a whole pitcher, but... She had already brought us a big basket of chips and some really good salsa. It wasn't the usual bright red, runny salsa that you see at so many places. It was dark, smokey and full of flavor. We had to get some extra to go with the rest of our dinner. Next up, we decided just to order a couple of appetizers to split, so we went for the carnitas nachos and the bacon wrapped jalapeno shrimp. The nachos were delicious! Instead of the usual huge pile of chips, lightly covered with bits of meat, beans and cheese, these had big chunks of tender marinated pork, lots of black beans a thick layer of mixed cheeses and piles of sour cream and guac in the middle. There were just enough chips to eat with the meat and veggies. My only complaint was that there were a few larger than acceptable chunks of fat on the meat, but that's my hang-up. The serving of the shrimp was kind of small for the price - only four shrimp. That being said, they were plump and perfectly cooked, served with a honey sauce. Let me say this; I didn't know that jalapenos could get that hot! I'm usually okay with that level of heat and my daughter does great with it. As we slowly chewed the first bite, we were again wishing for that pitcher of margaritas. Katie ordered another one, since we were unable to locate a fire extinguisher. We were completely sated and a bit over after just the two apps. Katarina tried to talk us into some nice fried ice cream, to go with those chile peppers, but not this time. She was there shortly with the check and just as shortly to finish up. We complimented her on some of the best service that we've had lately. She told us that she was relatively new there, so kudos to whomever hired her, she's very good at her job.

I have to spilt this review in two parts. The food I would give 3.5 stars. The service I would have to give 1.5 stars. The food was fresh and delicious. Chevy's makes all of their food fresh at their location. I ordered the Chips with Salsa and Queso. I had to ask my server three times to bring the chips out. When the chips finally arrived, I could tell that they were freshly baked. The Salsa as well as the Queso had the perfect blend of flavors and seasoning. I ordered the Steak and Chicken Fajitas with Soft Tortillas. The service was VERY SLOW. When I say SLOW I mean I was eating Chips for over an hour. Now don't get me wrong, I don't mind being patient and waiting...but..if I wait that long, the food has to be together. Unfortunately, my food was not. I received fajitas with no tortillas. By the time somebody came by to see if everything was ok, the steam from the fajitas was gone...and so was my appetite. I realized that they took so long that I got full on Chips, Salsa, and Queso. I eventually asked the waiter to remove the item from my ticket. What I must give Chevy's credit for is that the manager did do everything to try and rectify the problem. He not only removed the item from my ticket, but he also sent me home with a fresh order of my original meal. He explained that he didn't want me to go home and be hungry later on. Well...that's exactly what happened. I ate the food that he sent me home with and it was great! I really wish the service as a whole would have been better because the food was great.

We ate dinner here Friday night and it was great. We arrived during happy hour and ordered the nachos appetizer for $5... Score! It was great and definitely a big hit of the night. Hubby ordered the chicken fajitas and liked them a lot. I got a pick 2 and got the chicken enchilada and a beef enchilada. Loved the chicken one. Didn't really like the steak one and wouldn't order it again. Mom ordered a combo with shrimp and crab enchiladas and the enchiladas were her favorite. Child ordered the cheese quesadilla and liked them. Server was very friendly and helpful. All in all, a wonderful option near disney and in walking distance to many hotels.

While the food here isn't the most spectacular you will find, it's pretty darn good! Since it's located in a touristy area there may be a bit of a wait... But it's definitely worth it. My favorite has to be the chicken quesadilla...very delicious. We will definitely be back again in the future. This is a must for fans of Tex-Mex.

A week ago my girlfriend and I met up with some friends there. We started drinks, they seem to be known for their margaritas. My girlfriend ordered a strawberry one, which I tasted and immediately tasted the liquor. I had a Dos Equis Lager, which I hadn't previously enjoyed before. I always try to order new or different beers when I go out, breaks up the same old. Food wise, I ordered Chicken Quesadillas, which were very filling. I nearly didn't finish them. To be honest, I didn't taste any spice or citrus. I did enjoy the scenery and the service was well. The server was attentive for the most part and was knowledgable of the menu.

Chevy's is one of my favorite Mexican chain restaurants. Until we drove by this location I was under the assumption that Chevy's only existed on the West side of the country and that even those locations were slowly dying. My regular location during college in Mesa, Arizona recently closed its doors and I had heard rumors that this was happening all over. I was more than surprised to discover that this location is not only in existence here in Florida but is brand new and seems to be doing fairly well. Chevy's is a mid-range Mexican restaurant with entrees around the $10-15 range. That's a bit of a jump from their previous pricing when I was in AZ... but I assume that they're trying to reimagine themselves. Okay, fine. A couple of bucks isn't worth sweating over. This location is nice and clean and has a good vibe. But let's be real, at a Mexican restaurant no one cares if it is clean or has a good vibe. We'll take the chance of the hershey squirts for some great tasting Chile Rellano or carne asada! Luckily Chevy's seems to have stuck with the great food I remember from Arizona. There are a few small changes but overall the food was essentially unchanged. I love their chips and salsa which is always fresh and tasty. I'm sitting in a puddle of drool right now just thinking about it. I almost always order a 2 or 3 entree combination. Some of the options have changed but no matter what you get you won't be disappointed. I particularly love the chile rellano which gives me great memories of my younger days in AZ while I flirted my way around the chicas so I could get free cooking lessons. Now, if you live in a Southwestern part of the country, there are certainly better and more authentic Mexican joints but I love this place and will go again and again and again, especially now that we found one in Florida!

I enjoy going to Chevy's even though I am not a huge fan of chain restaurants. Their fresh chips and salsa is very good (free) and I am quite picky when it comes to salsa so good job guys! The renovation makes the place look a lot better, gives it a fresh look and is not updated and seems a lot better. Some items like fajitas are a bit pricey but there seems to be something on the menu for most people. Our server Lubens was very nice and did a great job the whole time.

Nestled in the wasteland of Disney tourist Mecca, this is a restaurant standout. It was nicer and higher prices than we were expecting--we thought it would be something like chipotle, but it was really good! We were there for lunch, and two of us shared a burrito and queso and left fat and happy. Service was fantabulous, and the chips fresh and tasty. Not quite fast food, but not fancy either, this fits a pretty perfect niche for the area. I would definitely recommend for a quick but not fast food bite in the Disney area.

This Chevys gets a lot of traffic just because it's near DisneyWorld. When we stopped at the restaurant we were actually sat down pretty fast, but then everything went into slow motion. We had a child who has significant food allergies and we had to talk that over with the waitress. Following that she took our order and we went and started to talk. I think we finished off five baskets of chips before our food came out. The food? It's ok, It's Fast-Sit down fair. The meat I had wasn't bad, but I wouldn't say it was amazing either. We skipped any desert because we had been there so long, and went and rested in the hotels.

I hadn't been in here since the renovation, and it looks positively snazzy! There was a short wait on a Saturday night, and I was impressed that it wasn't long! In addition, they've moved to texting when the table is ready, so that the hubby and I could take a walk around the shopping center without the worries that our little vibrating piece of plastic would go out of range! Hooray for technology! The chicken chimichanga is one of my favorite items on the menu--it's enormous and delicious and covered in CHEEEEEEEEESE! So yummy! The flan we had for dessert was good...not great. But good. I don't think I'd get it again here, I'd wait and get the good stuff at Padrino's! We had lovely service, up until it was time to pay, at which time our server (who had been super attentive and solicitous) completely disappeared. I can only imagine that he must've had another table in the far reaches of the restaurant...I guess? But I forgive him...it was a Saturday night, after all.

We ate there twice in October and again in November. I have to say both times food was excellent and service was too. The atmosphere is nice not too noisy and they do have a full bar. They have a lot of good dishes and will cater to any change to your liking.

Very good fajita steak, great kids meal and good sampler platter. Some of the flavored were different then we are used to (from Texas) but all delicious. They had good drinks, and we needed them after a long few days in the magic kingdom. They were quick and friendly. Queso had a strange color but tasted good. We regretted not having table side guac, but hey, we eat lots of guac so didn't see the value in the table side up charge. I would def go again and recommend it to my friends. I would skip the bacon wrapped grilled shrimp and just stick to beef fajitas.

Every time I go to Orlando this is my first stop. The first time I went I ordered a chimichanga. It was smothered in cheese, and love at first bite. Each time I went id order the same thing. The past two times I left disappointed. They look different each time. This past Saturday I went I decided to try once more. My once beautifully cheese smothered chimichanga had barely any cheese and bone dry .

  • Matt K.

We had an excellent experience at this restaurant. We were seated immediately and greeted by our server. The service was very attentive and our drinks were always full and chips replaced. The menu has a good variety and I felt it was a good value. The food quality was excellent and I was pleasantly surprised considering it is a chain restaurant. Overall a very pleasant experience.

Great food. Great time! Great "dillas"! While visiting Orlando we stopped at a Chevys, and I was amazed how delicious the food was! Will be back!

Never have been disappointed with Chevy's. Love it!!! Must have the corn polenta and freshly made chips and salsa.

We made a reservation online through yelp that worked out great. The service was great along with the table side guac. However, the tacos were disappointing, there was barely any meat in the taco. Overall, it was just ok!

    I have been coming to Chevys for years...since they have redone the place it's management and food portions have diminished greatly...Fajitas are a must when dining in at Chevys and have always been well worth the price...Since redone, you can forget about decent pricing and food portions..My steak fajitas came out on a bed of around 7 or so onions and 3 carrots? Carrots with fajitas? C'mon. The steak had to of been around 6oz or less and had the appearance of a much smaller cow patty laid in a even smaller onion field. Once the $20 "fajitas" were set in front of me I pondered the thought of rolling a cigarette with a fresh $20 and smoking it at the table knowing I would receive more gratification spending my money that way. To top things off...once we had the manager stop by the table to take care of this customer disatisfaction, we were told in a rude and sarcastic manner that " They have always been served in this size and manner" wrong buddy...The customer is always right. Not the case at Chevys in Lake Buena Vista...we received no appology nor any effort to help our unsatisfactory meal...DO NOT DINE THERE! Our waitress was a sweetheart though.}

Not authentic by any means..But the salsa and chips were decent..The cabo wabo Rita was the best thing on the menu for sure!

    (4)
  • Ryan B.

  • Katie R.

    (1)

  • Erin F.

Good meal, always the freshest ingredients. Heribert our see over did a great job with table side Guacamole. Miss this niche in Champaign, IL

Service was painstakingly slow! Plenty of staff and not busy but food and drinks took forever to come out. Food was just average. Would not recommend or will be coming back.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
